The Stories Behind Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Nikki Bella Selling Out to The Authority

Randy Orton Seth Rollins

Nikki Bella

As many people know by now, one of WWE’s most evil, if not the most evil, factions came to life about a year ago; that faction being The Authority, which is currently led by one of WWE’s Principal Owners Stephanie McMahon and her husband WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H. Since then, numerous superstars have aligned themselves with The Authority, which included once-beloved superstars selling out. After seeing The Authority for a little more than a year now, I have put together pieces of the puzzle and realized that there are three notable sellouts that had and still do have similar agendas.

Randy Orton

Last year at WWE SummerSlam, after Daniel Bryan had defeated John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, in which Triple H was the special guest referee for that match, then-Money in the Bank contract holder Randy Orton came out. Then, out of nowhere, Triple H hits Daniel with his finishing maneuver, the Pedigree. Orton then cashes in his Money in the Bank contract for an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Triple H appoints himself as special guest referee and the match is officially underway. Orton picks up Triple H’s scraps, pins Daniel …

There Needs to Be a Face in the World Championship Match at WrestleMania 30

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista

As of right now, the main event match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30 is going to be the champion Randy Orton against the challenger Batista. The only problem is that both of these guys are currently heels. There needs to be a face in the World Championship match because not once in the history of WrestleMania has there been a World Championship Match that did not include a face and it certainly should not start now. If that face does not end up being CM Punk, then WWE needs to put someone in that match as the face and make it a Triple Threat Match for the championship. Make it happen WWE!…

The New Age Outlaws with The Authority?

New Age Outlaws

The Outlaws Turn On CM Punk

On the January 13, 2014 edition of WWE Raw, CM Punk teamed with The New Age Outlaws (“Road Dogg” Jesse James & “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn) against Authority members The Shield (current United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns). Just as Punk was reaching over to tag in one of his partners, The Outlaws shockingly walked out on him, thus turning heel in the process, and it would allow The Shield to pick up the victory. Afterwards, Punk was convinced that The Outlaws are in cahoots with The Authority, the very faction that Punk has had issues with as of late. Punk believes this is due to the fact that Triple H has history with The Outlaws in their days as members of D Generation-X.

Signs Start to Become More Clear

Four days later on Smackdown, there were some signs that pointed to Punk’s assumption. First, The Outlaws were conveniently in a non-title tag team match against WWE Tag Team Champions The Brotherhood (Dustin “Goldust” & Cody Rhodes). If The Outlaws were able to knock off the Tag Team Champions, it would put them in line for a future …

Things That Need to/Should Happen In WWE In 2014

wwe 2014

The new year of 2014 has officially begun and there are many things that I feel that need to, or at least should, happen in WWE in 2014.

Changes with the Championships

Both the Intercontinental and United States Championships should be unified because just about every other current major championship has been merged into one. WWE should also bring back the European Championship so that superstars can once again get the opportunity to join the list of WWE’s Grand Slam Champions (e.g., WWE World Heavyweight or World Heavyweight Championship, Intercontinental or United States Championship, World, WWE, or Unified Tag Team Championship, and European or Hardcore Championship). Lastly, the WWE Divas Championship needs to be put on the line at WrestleMania 30 this year because it has never been on the line at any WrestleMania in history.

Superstars Who Deserve to Become Champions

Sin Cara should become either the Intercontinental Champion or United States Champion because he has proven time and time again that he is worthy, he is way overdue. Also, Zack Ryder needs to be put back in the championship picture because he busted his ass to win his first and only United States Championship a few years ago …

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella…Power Couple of 2014?

daniel-bryan-and-brie-bella

 A New Era Begins

This past Sunday, at the final WWE Pay-Per-View event of 2013, TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs), WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee retained her championship against Natalya Neidhart. Also, in the main event, both WWE Champion Randy Orton and World Heavyweight Champion John Cena put their respective championships on the line against one another in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Championship Unification Match. With both championships hanging above the ring, in the end, it was Orton who ended up grabbing both championships to become the first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion in history.

Possibility for WrestleMania 30

WrestleMania 30 takes place on April 6, 2014. Now, assuming AJ Lee heads into WrestleMania as Divas Champion, Brie Bella would be her opponent and they would have the first-ever WWE Divas Championship Match in WrestleMania history. Also, if Daniel Bryan was to go on to win the Royal Rumble Match and earn an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, assuming Orton would still be champion heading into WrestleMania, they would face one another. First, Brie would win the Divas Champion from AJ. Then, in the main event, Daniel would win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Orton. Afterwards, …

Was John “Bradshaw” Layfield Part of the Plot?

 JBL

Last month at WWE SummerSlam, then-WWE Champion John Cena defended his championship against Daniel Bryan with WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H serving as special guest referee. All three of these men were faces at that time and Cena and Bryan still are. In the end, it was Bryan who beat Cena to become the new WWE Champion. After the match, Cena was a sport and shook Bryan’s hand and also shook Triple H’s hand for calling the match straight down the line. After Cena had left the ring, Bryan began celebrating his victory; however, the celebration was cut short by Randy Orton, who came out to cash in his Money In the Bank WWE Championship contract, which consisted of a guarenteed opportunity at the championship at anytime and anywhere. I would also like to point out that Orton was a face at the time as well. Then, Triple H shocked the entire world when he hit Bryan with his signature maneuver, the Pedigree. Then, Orton cashed in his championship opportunity and Triple H appointed himself as special guest referee for the match. Once the ring bell was rung to begin the match, Orton picked up Triple H’s scraps and …

WWE Money In the Bank 7-14-13: Two Brand New Mr. Money In the Banks Crowned

Money In the Bank Kickoff

During the Money In the Bank Kickoff (Pre-Show), WWE Tag Team Champions and Shield members Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns defended their championships against #1 contenders and Reigns’ second cousins The Usos (Jimmy & Jey). The Usos came within inches of becoming the new champions, but in the end, it was Reigns who hit Jimmy with his signature maneuver “The Spear” to get the pin and the win for his team and retain their championships. I sure hope The Usos aren’t done with The Shield because Jimmy & Jey are way overdue for a WWE Tag Team Championship reign.

It’s Not Cryback, It’s Ryback

Chris Jericho went one-on-one with Ryback. During the weeks leading up to their match, Jericho played mind games with Ryback by referring to him as “Cryback”; unfortunately, it was not enough to over come the powerhouse when Ryback rolled up Jericho to get the pin and the win.

Kaitlyn’s Injury May Have Cost Her

In a WWE Divas Championship rematch between BFFs-turned-bitter enemies, Champion AJ Lee (accompanied by Big E Langston) and Challenger Kaitlyn (accompanied by Layla El), Kaitlyn came into the match wearing a sleeve over her injured left …

WWE Raw 7-1-13: The Two World Champions Collide

Every Money In the Bank Competitor, Except One, States His Case

With the WWE Championship Contract Money In the Bank Briefcase hanging above the ring and a ladder inside the ring, Daniel Bryan came out to state his case on why he would win the WWE Championship Contract Money In the Bank Ladder Match at the upcoming WWE event, Money In the Bank. Then, all the rest of the competitors for this match came out, which consists of Sheamus O’Shaunessy, Randy Orton, Kane, Christian, and CM Punk. The only one who was conspicuous by his absence was Rob Van Dam. After all the rest of the men stated their cases, chaos followed when Orton struck Kane with his signature maneuver “The RKO”.

Kane Gets Some Unwanted Assistance

Backstage, Daniel Bryan informed his former Team Hell No tag team partner Kane that Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero made a match between Kane and Randy Orton with Daniel Bryan as the special guest referee. I am a fan of both Kane and Orton and was not sure who to root for in this one. As for the match, at one point, Orton kind of shoved Bryan, leading to Bryan disqualifying Orton …

WWE Smackdown 6-28-13: Del Rio Fiesta Spoiled

Kaitlyn Turns the Tables On AJ Lee

WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee (accompanied by Big E Langston) went one-on-one with Natalya Neidhart in a non-title match. Right when the match officially got under way, AJ’s theme music hit and it was none other than Kaitlyn coming out dressed as AJ, similar to what AJ did to Kaitlyn on Raw the previous Monday. Kaitlyn then went on to ridicule her former BFF by telling everybody that in addition to the vast number of superstars AJ has been intimate with, there are rumors that she has been intimate with several of the WWE personnel that were seated at ringside, including Smackdown ring announcer Lilian Garcia. After AJ and Natalya began locking up with one another, Kaitlyn, at one point, began to skip around ringside in typical AJ fashion, which not only drove AJ insane, but provided enough of a distraction to allow Natalya to roll up AJ to get the pin and the win. After the match, Kaitlyn put the exclamation point on her mind games by hitting AJ with her signature maneuver “The Spear”.

WWE Raw 6-17-13: Daniel Bryan Finally Proves to the Entire World (or Rather Himself) That He Is Not the “Weak Link”

 Double Disqualification = Rematch

The show began with a rematch between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. I am a fan of both of these men and I was not sure who to root for in this one. At one point, both men ended up outside the ring and got so aggressive with one another to the point where they both ended up getting disqualified. This led to Bryan, who has been obsessed with not being called the “weak link” for quite some time now, going to Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and demanding a rematch for later in the evening, which Vickie eventually agreed to.

AJ Lee Strikes Again

During a match between Kaitlyn (accompanied by Layla El) and Aksana, Kaitlyn’s theme music hit and out comes WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee dressed as her. Aksana tried to take advantage of the distraction, but Kaitlyn was able to hit her with her signature maneuver “The Spear” to get the pin and the win. After the match, AJ Lee had her friend Big E Langston come out and they then proceeded to mock Kaitlyn by re-enacting the hoax that AJ pulled on Kaitlyn a few weeks ago. Layla ended up having …

WWE Smackdown 6-21-13: Daniel Bryan Wins, But Is Not Happy

The show began with Daniel Bryan addressing his match being stopped on Raw a few nights ago due to suffering an injury that didn’t allow him to continue. Bryan has been obsessed with proving to everybody that he is not the “weak link”. After Randy Orton came out to tell Bryan that when helped him to his feet after their match on Raw and embraced him, that he respects Bryan for his guts and determination. Instead, Bryan took that sportsmanship as pity and was determined to prove himself in their rematch later on in the evening. Also, Wade Barrett got his Intercontinental Championship rematch after losing the championship to Curtis Axel at Payback the previous Sunday. It was a Triple Threat Match that also featured The Miz; Axel won the championship in controversial fashion when Miz had Wade Barrett locked in his signature submission hold “The Figure Four Leg-Lock” and Axel picked up the scraps by pinning Barrett to win the championship, so I felt that he needed to prove himself as Intercontinental Champion. During the rematch against Barrett, Axel did just that by hitting Barrett with his signature maneuver and pinning him for the 1-2-3 to retain his championship. …

WWE Raw 6-17-13: Changes In the Air

I was in attendance for this edition of Raw that took place at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The show began with the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio (accompanied by his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez). Del Rio addressed his actions from the previous night at the Payback Pay-Per-View event and was met with a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. After all of this, Del Rio then stated that for the last few months, he has fought for the WWE Universe and all they did was disrespect him. After making this statement, it was clear that both Del Rio and Rodriguez had turned heel. They are then interrupted by CM Punk (accompanied by Paul Heyman); Punk then made it clear that he did not appreciate Del Rio’s posturing. Then, despite protests from Heyman, Punk went on to challenge Del Rio to a non-title match for later on in the show. Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero (accompanied by her assistant Brad Maddox) came out and announced that the match would happen in the night’s main event. Also, after losing the Intercontinental Championship to Curtis Axel the night before at Payback, Barrett was scheduled to have …

WWE Payback 6-16-13: John Cena Survives Hell

In a match during the Payback Kickoff (Pre-Show), Sheamus O’Shaunessy defeated one-half of Team Rhodes Scholars Damien Sandow. As for the matches for the Pay-Per-View portion of Payback, WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn had retribution on her mind heading into her defense against former BFF AJ Lee; unfortunately, it was not to be because in the end, it was AJ who forced Kaitlyn to submit to her signature submission hold “The Black Widow” to become the WWE Divas Champion for the first time. After the heart-wrenching loss, Kaitlyn was consoled by fellow former WWE Divas Champions Layla El, Natalya Neidhart, and Alicia Fox, thus turning Alicia face. Also, United States Champion and Shield leader Dean Ambrose defended against Kane. In the end, when Kane attempted to hit Ambrose with his signature maneuver “The Chokeslam” through the announcers’ table outside the ring, it was Ambrose who countered by hitting Kane with a DDT and getting back in the ring to beat the referee’s ten count, thus beating Kane and retaining his championship via count-out. Also, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett was originally scheduled to defend against both The Miz and Fandango in a Triple Threat Match; however, Fandango had suffered an injury during …

WWE Smackdown 6-14-13: The Shield Finally Gets Beat As A Trio

On this edition of Smackdown, WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn was scheduled to go one-on-one with Aksana in a non-title match; however, prior to the match, a replay from this past Monday on Raw was shown of AJ Lee revealing to Kaitlyn that the whole secret admirer thing was a ploy set up by her just to psyche Kaitlyn out. After Kaitlyn had noticed Aksana laughing about it, Kaitlyn snapped and relentlessly attacked her. While referee Rod Zapata was trying to restrain Kaitlyn, she responded by slapping him in the face. After Aksana had finally escaped Kaitlyn’s grasp, Kaitlyn broke down in the ring for the second time in one week. The match had never officially started. Later on, the Senior Advisor to the Smackdown General Manager (WWE Hall of Famer Booker T) Teddy Long, who is running Smackdown while Booker T is out with an injury, announced in a WWE.com Exclusive video that while he understood what Kaitlyn is currently going through, he made it clear that a competitor, male or female, is not allowed to put their hands on referees; therefore, Teddy said that he had no choice but to fine Kaitlyn $10,000 for her actions. Speaking of Booker …

WWE Main Event 6-12-13: The Usos Bring Down the Funk

The show began with The Miz going one-on-one with one-half of Team Rhodes Scholars Cody Rhodes. The regular commentary team for Main Event is Josh Mathews, The Miz, & Ricardo Rodriguez, but since The Miz was in a match, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett provided commentary with Josh Mathews throughout the show, with Ricardo Rodriguez being absent altogether for some reason. As for the match, The Miz was victorious. Also, in the main event, it was two fan favorite tag teams going at it as The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) faced Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay & Tensai) (accompanied by The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron Lynn). In the end, it was The Usos who came out on top to end the program. I am a fan of both of these teams, but I was rooting for The Usos in this one. I also think that no matter which team walks out of the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View event, Payback, as WWE Tag Team Champions, whether it’d be the defending champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns of The Shield or the unlikely pairing of Randy Orton and one-half of Team Hell No Daniel Bryan, The Usos should get the next opportunity at the …
