OVW TV 6-22-13: The Coaltion Continues to Wreak Havoc

The show began with Rob Terry calling out Jay Bradley and challenging him to a one-on-one match for the evening and he even put his #1 contendership to the OVW Heavyweight Championship on the line. Also, OVW Television Champion Randy Royal defended against one-half of The Gut Checkers Sam Shaw. Royal, unbeknownst to the referee, uses a chain to get the pin and the win to retain his championship and hides the chain under his arm; however, Royal’s former friend, Tony Gunn, comes out and busts Royal with the chain, prompting the ref to restart the match. At one point, The Coalition comes out and attacks Sam Shaw, leading to the disqualification win for Shaw. After other members of the OVW locker room come out to even the odds, during the melee, Shaw gets his head driven into the ring post and suffers some injuries to his head. Also, Heidi Lovelace confronts Taeler Hendrix about using her as a human shield the previous week on OVW TV. Taeler comes up with an excuse and tells Heidi if she wins her match for the evening, she will give her something special. Unfortunately, her opponent was the powerful Lei’D Tapa and Lei’D …

OVW TV 6-16-13: The Coalition Gets Outsmarted

The show began with Jay Bradley coming out to address the fact that OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis told him that he has to earn his opportunity at the OVW Heavyweight Championship. Bradley then said that he plans on doing that by going through every contender that is in line for an opportunity. After reminding everybody he took #3 in Ryan Howe out last week on OVW TV, he then issued an open challenge to #2 in OVW Television Champion Randy Royal. Randy Royal (accompanied by Tony Gunn) came out and had every intention of denying the challenge, until Gunn would accept on Royal’s behalf. I am not a fan of either one of these guys and I was not sure who to root against in this one. In the end, when Royal attempted to use a chain, Gunn snatched it from him; Bradley then hit Royal with his signature maneuver “The Boomstick” to get the pin and the win in this non-title encounter. I would like to point out that last week on OVW TV, during the match between Royal and Gunn, Royal feigned a heart attack to get the victory over Gunn, thus betraying his trust. My only …

TNA Slammiversary XI: New Champions, Kurt Angle Hall of Fame Bound, Bully Ray Retains World Championship

Slammiversary XI marked the 11th anniversary of TNA. New champions were crowned, the TNA Hall of Fame 2013 Inductee was revealed, and one champion retained his championship. In a 3-Way Ultimate X Match, Kenny King defended his X Division Championship against both Chris Sabin and Suicide. In the end, it was Sabin who climbed across the X-shaped ropes above the wrestling ring to grab the championship belt and become the new X Division Champion. Just like last year, the X Division Champion will get to trade in his championship in exchange for an opportunity at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming Pay-Per-View event, Destination X. Austin Aries was successful last year, can Sabin be just as successful? In a 6-Man Tag Team Match, the team of Samoa Joe, Brutus Magnus, and the returning Jeff Hardy defeated Aces & Eights members Ken Anderson, Garett Bischoff, & Wes Brisco. Also, in the Gut Check tournament final, Jay Bradley defeated Sam Shaw to earn a spot in the upcoming Bound For Glory Series, which will determine who will challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at TNA’s biggest show of the year, Bound For Glory IX this year. Also, Aces & …

OVW TV 5-25-13: Mohamad Ali Vaez Returns

The show began with OVW Southern Tag Team Champions and Coalition members Crimson & Jason Wayne giving a State of OVW Address. They brought up the fact that last week on OVW TV, Michael Hayes was relieved of his duties as OVW Director of Operations. Then, OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis comes out and informs The Coalition, as well as everybody else, that the position of OVW Director of Operations is no more and that Davis is running things around OVW. He then announced that he had reinstated Michael Hayes as an active wrestler. Then, he told Crimson & Wayne that they would be facing Hayes and a partner of Hayes’ choosing at the next Saturday Night Special in a non-title match. Davis also said that Hayes would reveal who his partner would be later in the night, which The Coalition spent the entire evening trying to find out about. Also, one-half of The Mobile Homers Ted McNaler (accompanied by Brittany DeVore) went one-on-one with Marcus Anthony, who was making his return to TNA. At one point in the match, McNaler appeared to have injured his back; Anthony capitalized on this and finished off McNaler to get the victory. After …

OVW TV 5-18-13: The Coalition Lose the Battle, But Win the War?

On this edition of OVW TV, we found out that Randy Royal had beat Rockstar Spud for the OVW Television Championship, thanks to an assist from Royal’s friend Tony Gunn, at the previous weekend’s Saturday Night Special. I’m pretty positive there was some reluctance on both parts of Royal and Gunn; what this means is that while Royal did not necessarily prefer to win the championship this way, he was a desperate man because he needed the championship so he could get paid a huge amount of money to pay off his recent medical bill after suffering heart attack recently. Gunn only agreed to do his part because he wanted to show Royal that he is behind him all the way. Either way, Rockstar Spud was not happy with either man and he has every intention of getting the championship back from Royal. Also, throughout the night, Jay Bradley was calling out OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia and declaring himself the new #1 contender to the championship. At one point, Bradley went after OVW commentator Dean Hill; fortunately, before Bradley could do anything to Hill, Jamin Olivencia comes out to put a stop to Bradley. OVW Director of Operations Michael …

Impact Wrestling 5-16-13: Sting’s Last World Championship Opportunity?

The Show began with General Manager Hulk Hogan coming out to call out Abyss and thank him for returning last week and aiding TNA in the war against Aces & Eights; however, Abyss’ brother Joseph Park came out instead. Park then tells Hogan how ecstatic he is that his brother is back because he has been looking for him for a long time. They then get interrupted by Aces & Eights members TNA Television Champion Devon & D’Lo Brown. Park then goes on to tell Devon that he has had of enough of The Aces & Eights’ actions and challenges Devon to a match. Devon responds by telling Park that until he proves something to him, he refuses to face him. D’Lo then offers to fight Park and prove a point so that he can earn back his Aces & Eights vest. Hogan then decides to make the match official for the evening and says that if Park wins, then he’ll get to face Devon in a non-title match at the upcoming Slammiversary Pay-Per-View event. Also, TNA Knockouts Executive Brooke Hogan told Mickie James that she will get an opportunity at Velvet Sky’s TNA Knockout Women’s Championship next week on …

OVW TV 5-11-13: King Mo Returns, The Coalition Sink to A New Low

The show began with a one-on-one match between Elvis Pridemoore and Coalition member Joe Coleman. In the end, other members of The Coalition come out and gang up on Pridemoore, until Jay Bradley, who was attacked by The Coalition backstage last week on OVW TV, comes out to put a stop to it. Bradley then challenges any two members of The Coalition to a match; OVW Director of Operations Michael Hayes comes out and makes the match official for the main event of the evening. Throughout the night, people had been offering Bradley to be his tag team partner for the match, but Bradley told everybody that he doesn’t want a partner. Eventually, backstage, Hayes tells Bradley that he needs to have a partner or the match won’t happen; Rob Terry then walks in and confirms that he is his partner for the match. Also, it was the return of current MMA Fighter and TNA Superstar King Mo making his first OVW appearance, as well as having his first official match in TNA. His opponent was VIP Club member J Best (accompanied by the other members of The VIP Club); King Mo ended up forcing J Best to tap out …

Impact Wrestling 5-9-13: Abyss Returns

The show began with TNA Hall of Famer Sting and Kurt Angle coming out to get AJ Styles’ answer of whether or not he would team with them to take on Aces & Eights members TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray, TNA Television Champion Devon, & Ken Anderson later in the main event of the evening. AJ Styles comes out, then Angle asked him if he was in or out. When AJ wouldn’t answer, Angle started to lose his patience. Sting calmed Angle down and then tried to get through to AJ by reminding him of who he was, but when AJ still wouldn’t answer, Angle once again got in AJ’s face, but AJ took off. However, Angle was in hot pursuit of AJ and the two then got into a brawl at the entrance ramp. Then, with Sting distracted by the brawl, Bully Ray, Devon, & Anderson sneak attack Sting. Afterwards, TNA cameras caught up with AJ backstage and asked him if he was in or out, but AJ once again refused to answer and stormed out of the building. After doing that, it could only be assumed that AJ was out; therefore, Sting and Angle still needed to …

OVW TV 4-27-13: The Coalition Continues Its Terror

The show began with The Coalition coming out; conspicuous by his absence was the leader Crimson. Second-In-Command Jason Wayne reminded everybody that OVW is in a state of war. Then, OVW Director of Operations Michael Hayes comes out and tells them that there are a bunch of guys in the locker room that want to get their hands on them. He then had those guys come out; the men that came out were Rob Terry, OVW Television Champion Rockstar Spud, Randy Royal, Tony Gunn, Eddie Diamond, and surprisingly, Jay Bradley. Bradley made it clear that he did not like or care about the other guys that were opposing The Coalition, but he has an issue with The Coalition because he feels that they ruined his opportunity to make a statement. Michael Hayes then decides to make a 12-Man Tag Team Match for the main event of the evening between The Coalition and the six guys from the OVW locker room standing in the ring. Also, while Ryan Howe is getting ready for his tag team match backstage, Heidi Lovelace comes in and tries to tell Howe about the gifts that Taeler Hendrix has been receiving for the past several weeks. …

OVW TV 4-20-13: The Coalition Take Over

The first match of the night was Eddie Diamond (accompanied by Timmy Danger) going one-on-one with Jessie Godderz. During the match, members of The Coalition come out and attack Eddie Diamond, thus getting the win by disqualification. Once The Coalition turned their attention to Jessie Godderz, he took off and The Coalition finished disposing of Diamond. Also, Doug Williams revealed to the new OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia that he had invoked his rematch clause for the upcoming Saturday Night Special. Backstage, Sam Shaw was attacked by members of The Coalition. Also, OVW Television Champion Rockstar Spud was scheduled to defend against Randy Royal, but while Spud was making his way towards the ring, members of The Coalition came out and attacked him. Spud was deemed unable to compete. Furious over not getting his opportunity at the championship, Randy Royal challenged any two members of The Coalition to face him and his friend Tony Gunn. Coalition members Jack Black & Joe Coleman accepted the challenge. Eventually, other Coalition members come out to distract the ref and Coleman takes this opportunity to grab a belt of bullets and use them on Gunn; this allows Coleman to get the pin and the …
