The show began with OVW Southern Tag Team Champions and Coalition members Crimson & Jason Wayne giving a State of OVW Address. They brought up the fact that last week on OVW TV, Michael Hayes was relieved of his duties as OVW Director of Operations. Then, OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis comes out and informs The Coalition, as well as everybody else, that the position of OVW Director of Operations is no more and that Davis is running things around OVW. He then announced that he had reinstated Michael Hayes as an active wrestler. Then, he told Crimson & Wayne that they would be facing Hayes and a partner of Hayes’ choosing at the next Saturday Night Special in a non-title match. Davis also said that Hayes would reveal who his partner would be later in the night, which The Coalition spent the entire evening trying to find out about. Also, one-half of The Mobile Homers Ted McNaler (accompanied by Brittany DeVore) went one-on-one with Marcus Anthony, who was making his return to TNA. At one point in the match, McNaler appeared to have injured his back; Anthony capitalized on this and finished off McNaler to get the victory. After the match, McNaler was attended to. Based on the fact that Anthony showed zero remorse, I’m convinced that he’s a heel. Also, one-half of The Blossom Twins Holly (accompanied by her twin sister Hannah) went one-on-one with Taeler Hendrix. At one point during the match, Heidi Lovelace comes out and tells Taeler that she really needs to know how she feels about her. After approaching Heidi, Taeler then smiles, takes Heidi’s hand, and the two walk off. This leads to the countout win for Holly Blossom. I am still not totally sure what to make of the situation between Heidi and Taeler. Also, prior to his championship match against Dylan Bostic, new OVW Television Champion Randy Royal was backstage telling his friend Tony Gunn about the brand new television that he had bought with the money he had earned from the championship. Tony then reminds Royal of how he won the championship and that the only reason that he agreed to help Royal win the championship is because Royal desperately needs the money to pay off his medical bill from the recent heart attack that he suffered. As for the championship match, in the end, while the referee’s back was turned, Royal had thrown Bostic over the top ring rope, which is apparently illegal, at least at OVW events, as for the rest of TNA, I’m not so sure, and this lead to a countout victory for Royal to retain his championship. After the match, it appeared that Tony Gunn showed a bit of concern that the championship may be beginning to corrupt Royal. I certainly hope this isn’t the case because everybody has been taking their hats off to Royal for the courageous battle he had with the heart attack and to come back and compete; I’d hate to see all of that get tarnished. Also, Danny Davis called out Jay Bradley and informed him that he had been fined $5,000 for his recent attacks on announcers and cameramen. Then, Bradley begins to discuss that he should be the #1 contender to Jamin Olivencia’s OVW Heavyweight Championship. Jamin then comes out, with a contract in hand, telling Bradley that all he needs to do is sign the contract and he will get his opportunity at the championship. However, Davis told them that there would not be a championship match between the two and that he would allow any other superstar to sign the contract to face Jamin for the championship at the next Saturday Night Special. Davis did, however, decide to make a non-title match between the two for the main event of the evening. Prior to the main event, backstage, after Jamin left the contract in the locker room area, a mysterious arm grabbed the contract. As for the main event match, in the end, thanks to an assist from Jessie Godderz, Bradley came out victorious. After the match, Godderz had revealed that it was him who had grabbed the contract earlier and that he had signed it; therefore, it’s official, at the next Saturday Night Special, Jamin Olivencia will defend his championship against Jessie Godderz. Finally, The Coalition called out Michael Hayes and demanded that he tell them who his partner is going to be at the Saturday Night Special. Hayes came out, then all of sudden, the lights in the arena went out; when they came back on, the returning Mohamad Ali Vaez stood in the ring right behind Crimson & Wayne. After Crimson & Wayne turned around, they walked right into a double clothesline from Vaez. It was then confirmed that Vaez is Hayes’ partner for the Saturday Night Special. I would also like to point out that jackass commentator Michael Titus was not on this edition of OVW TV; therefore, this made the show that much better.
