On this edition of OVW TV, we found out that Randy Royal had beat Rockstar Spud for the OVW Television Championship, thanks to an assist from Royal’s friend Tony Gunn, at the previous weekend’s Saturday Night Special. I’m pretty positive there was some reluctance on both parts of Royal and Gunn; what this means is that while Royal did not necessarily prefer to win the championship this way, he was a desperate man because he needed the championship so he could get paid a huge amount of money to pay off his recent medical bill after suffering heart attack recently. Gunn only agreed to do his part because he wanted to show Royal that he is behind him all the way. Either way, Rockstar Spud was not happy with either man and he has every intention of getting the championship back from Royal. Also, throughout the night, Jay Bradley was calling out OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia and declaring himself the new #1 contender to the championship. At one point, Bradley went after OVW commentator Dean Hill; fortunately, before Bradley could do anything to Hill, Jamin Olivencia comes out to put a stop to Bradley. OVW Director of Operations Michael Hayes then comes out and informs Bradley that he is not the new #1 contender because he feels that Bradley has not proven that he deserves it. Speaking of Michael Hayes, he put almost every member of The Coalition in matches that did not favor their odds as punishment for all the chaos they have been bringing around OVW for the past months. After all the members of The Coalition were defeated in their respective matches, Coalition leader Crimson came out to inform Hayes that fellow Coalition members Jason Wayne and Joe Coleman, who were conspicuous by their absences, had a meeting with the OVW Board of Directors and that there was an announcement regarding that meeting. Crimson then has OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis come out to make the announcement. While Davis was making his way to the wrestling ring, Crimson extended his hand to him, but Davis refused to shake it. After Davis got into the ring, he shook Hayes’ hand and told him that while he thinks that Hayes has been doing a great job as OVW Director of Operations and felt that he gave The Coalition everything that they deserved throughout the evening, Davis informed Hayes that the OVW Board of Directors have made the decision to relieve Hayes of his duties as OVW Director of Operations. Prior to informing Hayes, Davis said that he’s convinced that somehow The Coalition got the board of directors in their back pockets. Me personally, I don’t know if that would be the right way to put it; however, I am convinced that somehow, someway, Jason Wayne and Joe Coleman convinced the board of directors that Hayes was overstepping his boundaries as OVW Director of Operations. This was definitely a huge mistake on the part of the board of directors. Hopefully, they will get wool removed that is being pulled over their eyes.
