The show began with an edition of The Miz’s talk show “Miz TV”. The Miz’s two guests were Randy Orton and Big Show, who will go one-on-one in an Extreme Rules Match this Sunday at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View event. Eventually, Jack Swagger (accompanied by Zeb Colter), Alberto Del Rio (accompanied by his person ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez), Mark Henry, and Sheamus O’Shaunessy join the fray and then chaos ensues. Afterwards, the Senior Advisor to the Smackdown General Manager (WWE Hall of Famer Booker T) Teddy Long, who is running Smackdown while Booker T recovers from an elbow injury, decides to make a Six-Man Tag Team main event match for the evening between the team of Randy Orton, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio against the team of Big Show, Mark Henry, and Jack Swagger. Also, it was a family affair when The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on two members of The Shield (Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns, The Usos’ second cousin), who were accompanied by the leader of The Shield Dean Ambrose. Every guy in this match was a member of the famous Anoa’i Wrestling Family except for Rollins. In the end, it was The Shield who came out on top, but after the match, The Shield were looking to do further damage. Fortunately, United States Champion Kofi Kingston came to The Usos’ aid and ran The Shield off with a chair. Also, while The Miz and Teddy Long were talking backstage, they were interrupted by one-half of Team Rhodes Scholars Damien Sandow, who then proposes to Teddy Long a talk show called “The Damien Sandow Show”. Teddy told Sandow that he would take it under consideration, but for this night, he would go one-on-one with The Miz. During the match, Sandow was accompanied by the other half of Team Rhodes Scholars Cody Rhodes, who joined commentary during the match and who will face The Miz this Sunday during the Extreme Rules Pre-Show. Despite attempted interference from Rhodes, The Miz was able to finish off Sandow with the “Figure Four Leg Lock” submission hold. I would also like to point out that during this match, in a WWE App exclusive interview, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett had revealed that the WWE rules state that whoever loses a championship to someone, this case being Miz losing the Intercontinental Championship to Barrett last month, has until 30 days to invoke his/her rematch clause for the championship before it expires and that Miz’s rematch clause has expired; therefore, The Miz has to go to the back of the line for another opportunity at the championship. Finally, in the Six-Man Tag Team Main Event Match, it was the team of Orton, Sheamus, and Del Rio who got the victory, thus gaining momentum for their respective matches this Sunday at Extreme Rules.
