The show began with S.C.U.M. members Steve Corino, Jimmy Jacobs, Cliff Compton, & Rhett Titus coming out and issuing an open challenge to ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness to send out three of ROH’s best to face Jacobs, Compton, & Titus in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. The three men to accept the challenge were BJ Whitmer and C & C (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander). In the end, it was S.C.U.M. that emerged victorious. Also, Nigel McGuinness hosted the official contract signing for the ROH World Championship Match between Champion Jay Briscoe and Challenger Adam Cole at the upcoming Internet-Pay-Per-View Event Border Wars. After both men had signed the contract and shook hands, S.C.U.M. members Steve Corino, Matt Hardy, & Rhino came out and interrupted. Jay Briscoe then issued an open challenge for a tag team match between himself and Adam Cole against Matt Hardy & Rhino. Nigel agreed to make the match happen, so it was official. At one point during the match, just as Briscoe was about to go for the finish, Cole tags himself into the match. Then, when chaos ensued, just when Rhino attempts to hit his signature move, the Gore, on Cole, he side-steps Rhino and he ends up Goring Briscoe instead. Cole capitalized on this and hit Rhino with his signature maneuver to get the pin and the win for his team. After the match, there seemed to be some bickering between Briscoe and Cole. Questions certainly remain going into the championship match at Border Wars. What was Cole’s motivation tagging himself into the match just when Briscoe was about to go for the finish? Was it an accident when Cole side-stepped Rhino, causing him to Gore Briscoe, or did Cole actually send Rhino into Briscoe? Right now, we seem to have more questions than answers, so stay tuned.
