Van Andel Arena

Last week Tuesday, my dad and I were in attendance for the WWE Main Event (which airs Wednesdays at 8/7 PM CT on Ion Television) and Smackdown (which airs Fridays at 8/7 PM CT on Syfy) tapings at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am posting this now because I do not believe in putting spoilers in my posts. We were seated not very far away from ringside, so we had a pretty close view of the event.

Main Event

During the Main Event taping, a match between Naomi (accompanied by Cameron Lynn) and NXT standout Emma took place that didn’t end up being televised, with Naomi coming out the victor. Also, at the very beginning of a divas tag team match between The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie) and the team of Alicia Fox & Aksana, something awesome happened. I started a “Total Divas” chant for The Bellas and Nikki heard me because she pointed right at me. The Bellas were victorious in that match.

Smackdown

As for Smackdown, at one point during the show, Emma was in the audience during two matches, at least. This was the second week in a row that Emma has appeared in the audience on both Raw and Smackdown, holding a sign that read “#Emmaloution”. Every time Fandango (who is always accompanied by Summer Rae) has a match; this is when she is shown in the audience. Recently, Emma and Summer Rae have developed a rivalry down at NXT (WWE’s Developmental System). Therefore, I am wondering if this whole thing with Emma appearing in the audience will lead WWE to bring their rivalry over to both Raw and Smackdown as well. Personally, I hope this ends up happening. Also, in an untelevised main event match, CM Punk took on Shield members Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Despite interference from other Shield member Roman Reigns, Punk was still able to come out of the match as the victor.

Conclusion

Overall, this event was an awesome one. After watching both shows on television, my dad and I were shown on screen quite a few times, so that is what really made it sweet. If a WWE TV show is coming to a town near you, I highly encourage you to go see the event because you never know; you might end up seeing yourself on TV.
