WWE Smackdown 6-14-13: The Shield Finally Gets Beat As A Trio

On this edition of Smackdown, WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn was scheduled to go one-on-one with Aksana in a non-title match; however, prior to the match, a replay from this past Monday on Raw was shown of AJ Lee revealing to Kaitlyn that the whole secret admirer thing was a ploy set up by her just to psyche Kaitlyn out. After Kaitlyn had noticed Aksana laughing about it, Kaitlyn snapped and relentlessly attacked her. While referee Rod Zapata was trying to restrain Kaitlyn, she responded by slapping him in the face. After Aksana had finally escaped Kaitlyn’s grasp, Kaitlyn broke down in the ring for the second time in one week. The match had never officially started. Later on, the Senior Advisor to the Smackdown General Manager (WWE Hall of Famer Booker T) Teddy Long, who is running Smackdown while Booker T is out with an injury, announced in a WWE.com Exclusive video that while he understood what Kaitlyn is currently going through, he made it clear that a competitor, male or female, is not allowed to put their hands on referees; therefore, Teddy said that he had no choice but to fine Kaitlyn $10,000 for her actions. Speaking of Booker T, it was revealed in a WWE.com article that he had successful triceps surgery and that he will be making his return very soon. Finally, in the main event, it was the team of Randy Orton & Team Hell No (Kane & Daniel Bryan) who took on The Shield (United States Champion Dean Ambrose & WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. In the end, it was Orton and Team Hell No who made history by becoming the first trio to beat The Shield as a trio to end the program. While The Shield have lost one match as a trio prior to this, it was by disqualification, thus the trio they faced did not beat them. I would also like to point out that it was revealed in a WWE App Exclusive video from this edition of Smackdown that this Six-Man Tag Team Match was going to be Kane’s & Bryan’s last match as Team Hell No, therefore; Team Hell No would be going their separate ways after this match.
