On this edition of OVW TV, Randy Royal finally got an opportunity at Cliff Compton’s OVW Television Championship after weeks of eying it. Randy Royal has been trying to get back on full track after the heart attack he suffered and throughout the match Royal seemed to be struggling a bit. This worried his friend Tony Gunn, so he stepped in the ring to stop Cliff Compton which would cause a disqualification for Royal. Also, at the end of the show, New OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia came out to address his victory at the Saturday Night Special. Eventually however, former champ Doug Williams came out with some referees and the OVW Director of Operations Michael Hayes. Doug Williams reminded everybody that he punched the ref (accidentally may I add) during his match with Olivencia at the Saturday Night Special which knocked the ref out temporarily. Doug said he spoke with the OVW Board of Directors and they agreed that he should have been disqualified. Therefore, Doug Williams lost the match, but not the championship. Hayes and the referees reluctantly had Olivenica hand over the championship so it could be returned to Williams. This was total B.S., Doug Williams took the coward’s way out. It was a total accident that the ref got taken out, so the Board of Directors should have just let that one slide. I think there should be a rematch between Williams and Olivencia for the championship, only this time with no count-outs and no disqualifications. There would be no weaseling out for Williams.
