Before Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson became the first black WWE Champion in history when he won the championship at Survivor Series 1998.

  1. Actually Mark Henry has won the WWE World Heavyweight Champion too. So that makes the Rock and Mark Henry. And as for Roger’s answer he is right, Booker T was wwe heavyweight champion in 2006.

    • Sorry, I was referring to what was once called the WWE Championship, but ever since it was unified with the World Heavyweight Championship, it is now called the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Sorry about the confusion.
