The show began with WWE Champion John Cena coming out to address the condition of his Achilles heel injury and whether or not he’ll be able to compete at the upcoming Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View event. Cena said that as long as he’s medically cleared, he’ll always step in the ring and fight. Then, Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero comes out and she then invites Ryback to come out as well. Vickie then asks both men what stipulation they want to have for their WWE Championship Match at Extreme Rules. Cena said that it didn’t matter to him and he allowed Ryback to choose the stipulation. The stipulation that Ryback chose was a Last Man Standing Match; therefore, at Extreme Rules, Cena will be defending his championship against Ryback in a Last Man Standing Match. Also, United States Champion Kofi Kingston and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. I would like to point out that The Usos are actually second cousins to Roman Reigns; therefore, it was two family members taking on another family member. As for the match, thanks to Reigns knocking Kingston off the top rope while the referee had his back turned, Ambrose was able to capitalize and hit Kingston with his signature maneuver to finish him off and get the pin and the win for his team. The Shield remains undefeated as a trio. Also, there was exclusive footage of Paul Heyman and his client Brock Lesnar unexpectedly stopping by WWE World Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut earlier in the day. They made their way up to the fourth floor and invaded WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H’s office. Brock Lesnar then went on to tear the entire office apart before he and Heyman left the building. Later on in the show, Heyman told the entire story via satellite. Before Heyman can finish his story, he gets interrupted by Triple H, who was at the arena. Triple H then told Heyman that Lesnar tearing up his office is no big thing because he has a second office and that second office is inside the ring. He then issued an open challenge for Lesnar and Heyman to meet him face-to-face in his “other office”. Also, prior to WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn and The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron Lynn) having their Six-Diva Tag Team Match against AJ Lee and The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie), Kaitlyn received yet another gift from her secret admirer. Natalya Neidhart then came by and told Kaitlyn that Natalya’s boyfriend The Great Khali can go undercover and find out who the secret admirer is. As for the Six-Diva Tag Team Match, while Kaitlyn and AJ were the two legal divas in the ring, AJ slapped Kaitlyn across the face. But this only seemed to anger Kaitlyn and AJ went over to tag in one of The Bellas, but The Bellas wanted no part of Kaitlyn and they walked out on the match, leaving AJ open for a spear from Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn getting the pin and the win for her team. Also, Mark Henry came out to the ring and issued a challenge to Sheamus O’Shaunnesy for a match at Extreme Rules. Sheamus then came out and accepted the challenge. Just when it looked like both men were about to get it on before Extreme Rules, Sheamus’ scheduled opponent for the evening Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett comes out for their non-title match. During the match, Mark Henry is sitting ringside for commentary and at one point when both Sheamus and Barrett end up outside the ring, Sheamus throws Barrett into Henry and then Sheamus follows up it by hitting Henry with his signature maneuver “The Brogue Kick”. WWE trainers are at ringside tending to the fallen Henry while Sheamus finishes off Barrett in the ring. After the match, Henry takes the belt off of one of the trainers and then attacks Sheamus with it and ends up leaving Sheamus with a bunch of whipping marks on his back. Finally, in the main event match made by Vickie Guerrero, WWE Tag Team Champion and one-half of Team Hell No Kane went one-on-one with Ryback. After Ryback beat Kane, The Shield then made their way down to the ring through the crowd. While WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan and the other half of Team Hell No came out to back up his fallen partner, Ryback left the ring. John Cena then came out to back up Team Hell No. During the melee between the six men, Ryback reemerges with a chair in hand to drive The Shield away. Ryback then uses the chair on Cena and lays him out to end the program.
