Not since 2012 has Zack Ryder gotten a championship opportunity, let alone a championship. His career really started to take off in 2011; he gained a huge fan following and he won his first major singles championship, the United States Championship, at the final WWE Pay-Per-View of the year. About a month later into January 2012, he lost the championship under controversial circumstances. Zack Ryder would go on that year to have a match at WrestleMania 28 and earn an opportunity at the U.S. Championship at the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View. Since then, however, Ryder started to fade away more and more from the championship picture, as well as win less matches. I think it is total crap the way WWE gave Ryder the push that he had worked so hard to get and then snatch it right away from him. WWE needs to give this push back to him. Ryder is currently recovering from an injury, but when he comes back, WWE needs to start pushing him again and have him either regain the U.S. Championship or win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career. Bottom line, WWE gave and then took away something special from the WWE Universe and they need to give it back to them.
