As many people may know, the WWE Network is up and running. There are definitely some interesting original programs on there. One of those programs is called “Beyond the Ring”. This program shows behind-the-scenes documentaries from DVDs/Blue Ray discs courtesy of WWE Home Video. Below are the documentaries that the WWE Network has aired thus far.
Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart
This is the documentary that gives the inside scoop on the classic rivalry between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart both inside and outside of the ring. One interesting fact people will find out is the fact that the animosity between these two started quite some time before the infamous “Montreal Screw Job” took place. I am definitely glad that they ended up patching things up in the end.
Stone Cold Steve Austin
This is a documentary that tells the story about Stone Cold’s rise to fame. It goes back to his early days in WCCW and USWA to his average rise in WCW and ECW all the way to his rise to superstardom in WWE. There were definitely a lot of interesting things shown in this, but there is one thing that wasn’t shown that I wish could have been shown and that was the grocery store brawl between Stone Cold and Booker T, that was classic. Otherwise, this documentary is a very moving one, so check it out if you have not seen it yet.
The Epic Journey of The Rock
This documentary is kind of similar to the one about Stone Cold Steve Austin. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s journey from starting his wrestling career to becoming a movie star to making his return to the ring is all documented. One interesting fact that people will find out is the fact that The Rock never wanted to use WWE or the WWE Universe as a launching pad for his movie career, he wanted to make it on his own. I think this definitely explains why The Rock was away from the ring for about seven years. Once he did make it in the movie industry, he was ready to return to the ring and entertain his millions (and millions) of fans. This documentary is definitely must-see.
In conclusion, I just want to say that this WWE Network program has some very interesting documentaries thus far and I think that there are many more to come. Bottom line, the WWE Network may very well be the best idea WWE has ever had. So, do not wait any longer, sign up for the WWE Network today.
