Fastlane Kickoff
MizTv with Special Guest Paul Heyman
The Miz will host another segment of his talk show MizTV and his special guest will be Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman will likely be giving his insight on the match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, which will determine the #1 contender to Heyman’s client and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, assuming that Lesnar is still champion by the time WrestleMania 31 takes place. Also, I think that Miz’s personal assistant Damien Mizdow will be accompanying Miz for this segment of MizTv. I hope that Mizdow finally takes a stand against his delusional boss and turns face.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) (c) vs. Cesaro & Tyson Kidd
For the past few weeks, these two teams have been going at it. At the inaugural Fastlane, Cesaro & Kidd finally get an opportunity at The Usos’ WWE Tag Team Championship. Both teams have bested each other in the weeks leading into this match; however, in the end, I think that The Usos will come out on top and remain WWE Tag Team Champions.
WWE Divas Championship Match
Nikki Bella (c) vs. Paige
Ever since Paige became the #1 contender to Nikki’s championship, both Nikki and her twin sister Brie have been using tactics to get the upper hand over Paige that are similar to the duo once known as Lay-Cool (Michelle McCool & Layla), who were known for using devious tactics to get the upper hand over their foes, which would make Mean Girls movie character Regina George proud. As a matter of fact, for the past few weeks, when I have seen Nikki & Brie, I am not seeing the first Bella Twins; I am seeing the next Lay-Cool instead. Seriously, why would WWE give us another Lay-Cool; it is bad enough that they even gave us one. As far as the match at Fastlane goes, Brie is expected to be in her sister’s corner. In the end, I hope that when Brie tries to interfere, there will be some miscommunication between the twins and Paige will capitalize and tie both Eve Torres and AJ Lee by becoming a record 3-time WWE Divas Champion. After the match, I hope that Nikki will shoot the blame on her sister and Brie finally takes an overdue stand against her evil sister for all the mistreatment that Nikki had put her through for the past few months prior to their reunion, which Nikki has shown no indications of regret for. This would also mean that Brie would turn face. Everybody knows that the only reason Nikki even has that WWE Divas Championship is because of her twin sister.
Half-Brother vs. Half-Brother Match
Goldust vs. Stardust
Half-brothers Goldust (aka Dustin Rhodes) & Stardust (aka Cody Rhodes) have been having issues for the past few weeks. Stardust has even gone as far as to say that “Cody is dead and Stardust lives”. Goldust’s concern over his brother becoming too attached to his alter-ego has turned Goldust face. Despite the brothers’ WWE Hall of Fame father Dusty Rhodes’ best efforts to help solve his sons’ situation, it was not enough and Stardust ends up turning his back not only on Goldust, but the entire Rhodes family as well. At Fastlane, I hope that Goldust can beat his brother, knock some sense into him, turn Stardust face and get the Rhodes family back together.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Bad News Barrett (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
After beating BNB in a non-title match, Ambrose challenged him to a championship match. After weeks of backing down from the challenge, Ambrose forcibly got BNB to sign a contract to an Intercontinental Championship Match at Fastlane. At Fastlane, I think that Ambrose will become the new Intercontinental Champion and join the list of many superstars in WWE history who have held both the Intercontinental and United States Championship.
6-Man Tag Team Match
Dolph Ziggler, Ryback & Erick Rowan vs. The Authority (WWE Director of Operations Kane, Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins & Big Show)
After being bogusly fired by The Authority, thanks to an assist from Sting, John Cena was able to win back the jobs of Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan. Since then, the three rehired superstars have continued their war with The Authority. At Fastlane, the three courageous superstars will do battle with Authority members Kane, Seth Rollins & Big Show in a 6-Man Tag Team Match. In the end, I hope that some miscommunication between Kane and Big Show, who have recently had issues with one another, ends up costing them and Rollins the match and Ziggler, Ryback & Rowan come out victorious. In addition to that, I also hope that after the match there is some more bickering between Kane and Big Show and one of them ends up ending his alliance with The Authority and turns face.
United States Championship Match
Rusev (c) vs. John Cena
Ever since arriving on the main roster, Rusev has yet to be pinned/submitted. Not even former World Champions such as Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show or Sheamus have been able to conquer The Super Athlete. This time, however, Rusev may very well be meeting his biggest challenge to date in the form of the face of WWE, John Cena. Although Rusev has yet to be pinned/submitted on the main roster, Cena has managed to find ways to come out on top many times throughout his career. At Fastlane, I think that Cena will be the one to finally conquer Rusev and become the United States Champion for the first time in nearly a decade.
Sting and WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H Come Face-to-Face
At Survivor Series 2014, WCW icon Sting finally made his WWE debut. He ended up costing The Authority’s WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon & WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H their power positions. Almost a month later, John Cena, who was the only one who could put Stephanie & Triple H back into power, was blackmailed into doing so. One week later, Stephanie & Triple H bogusly fired Dolph Ziggler, Ryback & Erick Rowan. Two weeks later, John Cena had the opportunity to win back the three fired superstars’ jobs. The only problem was, Cena had to win a 3-on-1 Handicap Match against Authority members Kane, Seth Rollins & Big Show. Fortunately, Sting made his first-ever appearance at Raw and provided a distraction, which allowed Cena to rollup Rollins and get the pinfall victory and win back the jobs of Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan. This was the final straw for Triple H and he has called out Sting for a face-to-face confrontation at Fastlane, which Sting has accepted. At Fastlane, I think that both Sting and Triple H will agree to a match at WrestleMania 31 and I hope it will involve a stipulation that has to do with putting The Authority out of power once and for all.
Winner Faces the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31
Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan
Roman Reigns was the winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble Match, thus earning him an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WreslteMania 31. The Authority, however, claim that there was some controversy involved in the outcome of that match. Also, Daniel Bryan reminded The Authority about how they stripped him of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and he never got his rematch. This all lead to The Authority goading Roman Reigns into putting his #1 contendership on the line in a match against Daniel Bryan at Fastlane. While there is part of me that wants to see Daniel Bryan win back the championship he was bogusly stripped of, there is also part of me that wants to see Roman Reigns become WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the first time. In the end, I hope that Roman Reigns comes out on top and retains his #1 contendership.
