Was John “Bradshaw” Layfield Part of the Plot?

 JBL

Last month at WWE SummerSlam, then-WWE Champion John Cena defended his championship against Daniel Bryan with WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H serving as special guest referee. All three of these men were faces at that time and Cena and Bryan still are. In the end, it was Bryan who beat Cena to become the new WWE Champion. After the match, Cena was a sport and shook Bryan’s hand and also shook Triple H’s hand for calling the match straight down the line. After Cena had left the ring, Bryan began celebrating his victory; however, the celebration was cut short by Randy Orton, who came out to cash in his Money In the Bank WWE Championship contract, which consisted of a guarenteed opportunity at the championship at anytime and anywhere. I would also like to point out that Orton was a face at the time as well. Then, Triple H shocked the entire world when he hit Bryan with his signature maneuver, the Pedigree. Then, Orton cashed in his championship opportunity and Triple H appointed himself as special guest referee for the match. Once the ring bell was rung to begin the match, Orton picked up Triple H’s scraps and pinned Bryan to become the new WWE Champion. It then became clear that this was some sort of plot that both Triple H and Orton were taking part in and both had turned heel. The next night on WWE Raw, it became apparent to me that The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns), WWE Executive Vice President of Creative and wife of Triple H Stephanie McMahon, and WWE Chairman, CEO, and Stephanie’s father Vincent K. McMahon were part of the plot as well. Stephanie Mcmahon had also turned heel and I’m convinced that Mr. McMahon was the mastermind behind this whole plot. Randy Orton was declared the “New Face” of the WWE by The McMahon Family. I would also like to point out that Mr. McMahon had made it clear during the weeks leading up to SummerSlam that he didn’t want either Cena nor Bryan to be WWE Champion; therefore, I think the same thing would have happended to Cena if he would have retained the championship.

For the next month leading up to the next WWE Pay-Per-View event, WWE Night of Champions, which took place this past Sunday, The McMahon Family had abused their authoritative power to put Bryan up against impossilbe odds and to use force so that the other superstars in the locker room could do nothing to stop it. The McMahon Family had been justifying the screwjob at SummerSlam and their vendetta against Bryan for the past month by saying that “It’s what’s best for business”. Heel commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield has been a very vocal sympathizer towards all of this. At Night of Champions, Bryan got his rematch against Orton for the championship. In the end, it was Bryan who beat Orton to become the new champion. However, the next night on Raw, Triple H pointed out to Bryan, referee Scott Armstrong, who had officiated the match, and the rest of the world that Armstrong gave a pretty fast 3-count. Triple H then began to question Armstrong and Armstrong admitted that the count was fast and that it was his mistake. Triple H, however, was convinced that Armstrong wasn’t telling the whole story and that he wanted Armstrong to come out with it. Armstrong then told Bryan that “He’s got us Daniel”. Triple H then took notice to what Armstrong had just said. Triple H then became convinced that there was some kind of “conspiracy” going on between Bryan and Armstrong, which Bryan had denied. Triple H then said he was “disgusted” and stripped Bryan of the championship and said that he would “get to the bottom of this”. Bryan, however, would not hand over the championship that easily. Orton then came out and hit Bryan with his signature maneuver, the RKO, which allowed Triple H to grab the championship belt and walk off. JBL, once again, sympathized with what Triple H was saying. Later on in the show, Triple H talked with Armstrong more about the incident before apologetically telling Armstrong that “I have to let you go” and that he would “take care of him”. Later, Orton approached Triple H and Stephanie and demanded that they hand him back “his” WWE Championship; however, they had both refused to do so. Triple H and Stephanie then got in Orton’s face and told him that if he wants to remain the “Face” of the WWE, then he needs to bring back the “old” and “remorseless” Randy Orton. Two things were made clear; Armstong did give a fast count and that either Armstrong is lying or Bryan is lying. In my opinion, I think that Triple H had set up Armstrong to make that fast count and have him say “He’s got us Daniel”, so that it would make The McMahon Family look like the good guys, as well as have an excuse to strip Bryan of the championship, so that they can continue their vendetta against him. Therefore, I believe that Armstrong was either bribed (as well as brainwashed) or blackmailed into doing what he did. Also, after the way that Triple H and Stephanie got in Orton’s face, as well as not hand the WWE Championship back to him so that they would look like the good guys, I think it’s pretty clear that The McMahon Family is only using Orton in their vendetta against Bryan. Later on in the show, Orton brutally attacked his opponent The Miz before, during, and after their match right in front of Miz’s parents, who were in the front row of the crowd in attendance, and ended up injuring Miz. This was no doubt Orton trying to make a statement towards Triple H and Stephanie. Face commentator Michael Cole reacted to what happened to The Miz by saying that “this whole thing was created by Stephanie”. Fellow face commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler agreed with Cole. JBL, on the other hand, stated that the whole thing was created by Bryan because if he hadn’t “stolen” the WWE Championship from Orton in the first place, they wouldn’t have had to motivate Orton to do what he had done to The Miz.

After thinking a lot about that statement from JBL, I had thought of something. How does he know that that’s what The McMahon Family would have done if Bryan wouldn’t have “stolen” the championship in the first place? JBL was certainly sounding like he knew that that’s what The McMahon Family would have done. Let’s be real here, nobody, besides The McMahon Family, would have known that that’s what The McMahon Family would have done, unless, of course, they were somehow in on the plot. I think it’s very possible that JBL’s been part of the plot the whole time. My theory is that The McMahon Family could possibly be paying JBL extra money to say things to make them, as well as others who are in on the plot, look good and Bryan look bad. Anybody who’s familiar with JBL knows that he is a greedy and arrogant self-made millionaire and the only time he is ever truly happy is when money is put in his wallet. I definitely think that Cole, Lawler, Bryan, or anybody for that matter, should call JBL out on this because I for one am sick and tired of listening to him disrupt the shows with his predictable antagonistic commentary week in and week out. As for that fast count, I think the truth will be revealed about that in the near future. I would also like to point out that Triple H announced in an exclusive interview on WWE.com that Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton will face eachother for the vacant WWE Championship at the next upcoming Pay-Per-View event, Battleground. Hopefully, this vendetta and reign of terror from The McMahon Family will be put to an end once and for all.

  1. Great analysis of the current situation. JBL is an idiot and I wouldn’t put it past him to be on “the take” with the McMahons.
