Johnnie Mae Young, who wrestled under the name Mae Young, has passed away at the age of 90. Mae Young began her wrestling career at age 15 and went on to compete for an amazing nine consecutive decades. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. During her acceptance speech, she told the entire world that she planned on competing in a wrestling match on her 100th birthday. Due to the fact that she competed in a few more matches after her induction, as well as her years of competing, I am convinced that she was not joking about having that match on her 100th birthday. Out of all the women that have competed in the wrestling world, Mae Young, in my opinion, is by far the strongest and toughest woman in history. No matter what her age was over the years, she could still kick anybody’s ass on any given day. Mae Young has, without a doubt, paved the way for many of the women we see in the wrestling world today. This inspirational woman and everything she has done will most definitely be missed.
