Impact Wrestling 4-18-13: Aces & Eights Continue To Terrorize TNA

The show began with a 2-on-1 Handicap Match between Kurt Angle and Aces & Eights members Garett Bischoff & Wes Brisco. Despite the fact that it was 2-on-1, Aces & Eights exploited their numbers’ game even more when the VP of Aces & Eights D’Lo Brown distracted the referee allowing Bischoff to use a chain on Angle and allow Brisco to get the pin and the win for his team. After the match, Aces & Eights then injured Angle with a brutal double-powerbomb. Also, in a Triple Threat X Division Championship Match, Kenny King defended against Zema Ion and Petey Williams. Towards the end of the match, while Petey had Zema locked in the Sharpshooter submission hold, Kenny jumped on top of Petey and picked up Petey’s scraps by pinning Zema. Since Zema was the one who got pinned, he now heads to the back of the line for an opportunity at the championship while Petey will get to be one of Kenny’s challengers in the next Triple Threat X Division Championship Match. Also, TNA Television Champion and Aces & Eights member Devon was scheduled to defend against Magnus; however, just as Magnus made his entrance, he gets jumped by other Aces & Eights members and is eventually lifted up by two members and slammed onto the entrance way. Luckily, before Aces & Eights could do any further damage, Samoa Joe comes to Magnus’ aid. Samoa Joe ended up taking Magnus’ spot in the championship match and thanks to Aces & Eights member Mr. Anderson nailing Joe with brass knucks while the ref was distracted by other Aces & Eights members, Devon was able to get the victory and retain. After the match, Aces & Eights injured Joe when Anderson smashed Joe in the face with the knucks. Also, Mickie James went one-on-one with Brooke Tessmacher to determine the #1 contender to Velvet Sky’s TNA Knockout Women’s Championship. I am a fan of both of these ladies and wasn’t sure who to root for in this one. In the end, it was Mickie James who came out on top. Therefore, next week on Impact Wrestling, Velvet Sky will defend against Mickie James. However, Velvet injured her knee last week on Impact Wrestling, so what condition will Velvet be in heading into the match? Finally, in the main event, it was James Storm against AJ Styles. In the end, AJ got the victory over Storm. After the match, Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) came out to congratulate AJ, but AJ ended up attacking them both. Afterwards, Aces & Eights came out and attacked Storm and Bad Influence while AJ continued walking towards the back. After Aces & Eights took out the three men, TNA World Heavyweight Champion and the President of Aces & Eights Bully Ray announced that he will be calling out General Manager Hulk Hogan next week on Impact Wrestling. Will Hogan end up answering the call? Also, after Impact Wrestling went off the air, TNA Camera Crew tried to get some answers from AJ Styles in an exclusive YouTube video. I also want to point that despite the fact that TNA commentator and Aces & Eights member Taz interfered in his leader’s match last week, it didn’t appear that Taz was disciplined in any way whatsoever and I think that is total B.S. He should be kicked off commentary. Also, next week on Impact Wrestling, new TNA World Tag Team Champions Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez will defend against the very two men they beat to win the championships, Bobby Roode & Austin Aries.
