The show was supposed to begin with a TNA World Tag Team Championship Match between Champions Bobby Roode & Austin Aries and Challengers Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez, but just as Guerrero & Hernandez entered the ring, out of nowhere comes Aces & Eights and attacks them. The match never ends up taking place and Aces & Eights then introduce the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion and President of Aces & Eights, Bully Ray. Bully Ray revealed to the entire world that for the past 9 months, everybody had bought into the ruse that Bully Ray was against Aces & Eights, but was actually the President of Aces & Eights all along (the higher power). Bully Ray then dared General Manager Hulk Hogan to fire each and every member of Aces & Eights. Also, in a Knockouts Tag Team Match, it was TNA Knockout Women’s Champion Velvet Sky & the returning Mickie James taking on Gail Kim & Tara. During the match, it was revealed that Knockouts Referee Taryn Terrell had been put on probation after getting physical with Gail Kim this past Sunday at Lockdown. At one point in the match, Gail Kim exploited that by face-shoving Taryn to the mat. Despite the probation, Taryn ended up retaliating with a slap to Gail’s face. In the end, Velvet & Mickie got the victory. As far as what happened between Taryn & Gail during that match, I personally think that Taryn should be relieved of her duties as a referee and put in full-time as a competitor and TNA should make a match between Taryn and Gail so that Gail can get her’s. Also, TNA Hall of Famer Sting went into Hulk Hogan’s office to talk to him about the recent events that have transpired involving Aces & Eights. Hulk Hogan made his frustrations clear by telling Sting that he should not have trusted Bully Ray like Hulk didn’t in the first place, that her daughter is now in an unhappy marriage, and that Aces & Eights now have possession of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Hulk then told Sting that he could not even look at or speak to him at the moment and told him to leave his office, which Sting obliged to. Based on that, I wouldn’t exactly say that their friendship is finished, but that Hogan has lost confidence in Sting at the moment. I know they will pull things together at some point though. Also, James Storm went one-on-one with Christopher Daniels with his tag team partner Kazarian in his corner. After James Storm got the victory, he received a post-match attack from Bad Influence. Then, it was the much-anticipated return of AJ Styles, who ran Bad Influence out of the ring. Then, to the shock of everybody, AJ decked Storm with a clothesline and then walked off. Based on that attack on Storm, I’m gonna say that AJ has turned heel (bad guy) unless proven otherwise. In the main event, Sting went one-on-one with TNA World Tag Team Champion Austin Aries. The match ended with Aries getting disqualified after Aces & Eights came out and attacked Sting. Bully Ray then called out Hulk Hogan and dared him, once again, to fire Aces & Eights. Hulk came out and said that firing them would be too easy and that he plans on banding the entire TNA locker room to take out Aces & Eights. Members of the TNA locker room then came out to take the fight to Aces & Eights. They put up a valiant effort, but Aces & Eights stood tall in the end. So basically, this edition of Impact Wrestling was all about Aces & Eights taking over everything and possibly everybody. But trust me though, this war is just getting started, the TNA locker room will live to fight another day.
