Kickoff Match
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Cesaro & Tyson Kidd (c) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E)
The problem with this match is that there is absolutely nobody to root for. As a matter of fact, it should be fan favorites The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto & Sin Cara) who are the #1 contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship. In a recent #1 Contenders’ Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship on Raw, The Lucha Dragons got screwed when an interfering New Day member Xavier Woods prevented Sin Cara from reentering the ring, which allowed The New Day to get the win by countout and become the #1 contenders. As far as this match goes, I do not have a preference to which team wins or walks out as champions, but I think I am going to root against Cesaro & Kidd. What I am really hoping for is that friction starts to develop between The New Day and it will lead Kofi Kingston to turn face. That is another problem, Kingston is currently a heel and he is not right for that role.
Pay-Per-View Matches
WWE Divas Championship Match
Nikki Bella (c) vs. Naomi
This match is taking place under controversial circumstances. This all started when Paige recently won a #1 Contenders’ Divas Battle Royal for the WWE Divas Championship on Raw. Minutes after Paige eliminated Naomi last to win, Naomi shockingly and brutally attacked Paige, thus turning heel in the process. The damage was so severe that doctors have deemed Paige unable to compete until further notice, which lead to Naomi becoming the new #1 contender. While Naomi has turned heel, Nikki and her twin sister Brie have recently turned face. At Extreme Rules, I think that Nikki will beat Naomi to retain her championship.
Chicago Street Fight
Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper
This is a match that I predicted would happen. This rivalry all started last month at WrestleMania 31 when Harper powerbombed Ambrose from inside the ring to the outside through a ladder. A few days later on Smackdown, Harper once again powerbombed Ambrose, only this time through the announcers’ desk. This is when I realized that it was only fitting that they settle their differences at Extreme Rules. At Extreme Rules, expect all-out chaos between two unhinged superstars in a brutal matchup. In the end, I think that Ambrose will walk away victorious.
Kiss Me Arse Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus
This is another match that I predicted would happen. Ever since Sheamus made his return the night after WrestleMania 31, he turned heel and has been targeting WWE’s underdogs, specifically Dolph Ziggler. Eventually, Sheamus challenged Ziggler to a “Kiss Me Arse” Match at Extreme Rules, which Ziggler has accepted. In Sheamus’ native Irish terms, a “Kiss Me Arse” Match is a “Kiss My Ass” Match, which means that the loser of the match will literally have to kiss the winner’s backside. At Extreme Rules, I think that Sheamus will be the one who puckers up and kisses Ziggler’s rear end.
Last Man Standing Match
Roman Reigns vs. Big Show
Here is yet another match that I predicted would happen. After recently costing Roman Reigns a #1 Contenders’ Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Big Show has made it clear that he is making it his mission to make sure that Roman Reigns becomes the “most epic failure” in WWE history. All of this has lead to a Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules. Reigns made it clear that whenever he gets taken down, he will always pick himself back up. At Extreme Rules, it will be no different when Reigns is the last man standing.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Bad News Barrett
At WrestleMania 31, Bad News Barrett defended the Intercontinental Championship against six other men in a Ladder Match and Daniel Bryan ended up walking out as the new champion. This has not set well with BNB, who even went as far as to refer to Daniel Bryan as a “paper champion”. At Extreme Rules, Barrett gets his rematch for the championship. I think that Daniel Bryan will force BNB to eat his words when he beats Barrett and retains his championship.
United States Championship Russian Chain Match
John Cena (c) vs. Rusev
At WrestleMania 31, Cena did the unthinkable and conquered Rusev to become the new United States Champion. At Extreme Rules, Rusev invokes his rematch clause in a Russian Chain Match. The rules of a Russian Chain Match are that each competitor is tied to each end of the chain and in order to win the match, a competitor must hit all four corners of the ring in succession. I think that for the second time in a row, Cena will conquer Rusev and retain his championship.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage Match
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Randy Orton
At WrestleMania 31, Randy Orton beat Seth Rollins; however, later on in the main event WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match between then-champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Roman Reigns, Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract that guaranteed him a championship opportunity anytime and anywhere and went on to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. A couple weeks later, Orton became the #1 contender to the championship. Eventually, both Orton and Rollins earned the right to choose stipulations for their match at Extreme Rules. Rollins chose to ban Orton from using his finishing maneuver, the RKO, and Orton chose for their match to be contested inside a steel cage. Afterwards, some friction has seemed to develop between Rollins and fellow Authority member and WWE Director of Operations Kane. WWE Chief Operating Officer and leader of The Authority Triple H has done everything in his power to intervene. Recently, Triple H announced that Kane would be the “gatekeeper” of the Steel Cage Match, meaning that Kane will hold the key to the cage door. He trusts that Kane will do “what’s best for business”. At Extreme Rules, I think that Kane will end up quitting The Authority and turn face and Randy Orton will become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
