Wrestling’s Black Superstars of the Past, Present, and Future

 Bobo Brazil

In honor of Black History Month, I am listing wrestling’s black superstars of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. One black superstar that arguably paved the way for most black superstars more than any other is the late, great Bobo Brazil. He has been referred to by many as the “Jackie Robinson of sports-entertainment” and was a true fan favorite to all. The impact that he made in the world of wrestling eventually landed him an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, becoming the first-ever black inductee, along with James Dudley. Some of these names listed below will never be forgotten, some might have been forgotten about, and some have yet to be discovered. Please, if you have any comments or opinions, I encourage you to leave some feedback.

  1. When I was a kid Bobo Brazil was my absolute favorite wrestler. He put the “Cocobutt” headbutt on the map!
