WWE Smackdown 5-31-13: Super Daniel Bryan

The show began with one-half of Team Hell No Kane (accompanied by the other half of Team Hell No Daniel Bryan) taking on WWE Tag Team Champion and Shield member Seth Rollins (accompanied by WWE Tag Team Champion and fellow Shield cohort Roman Reigns). At one point in the match, Reigns jumped up on the ring apron to distract Kane, but Kane caught him. In the end, Daniel Bryan returned the favor by knocking Rollins off the top rope while the referee’s back was turned. Kane capitalized and hit Rollins with his signature maneuver “The Chokeslam” to get the pin and the win. Immediately following this match was the match between Bryan and Reigns with their respective tag team partners in their corners. In the end, after Reigns took an unprovoked shot at Kane, Kane retaliated by taking a shot at him. Unfortunately for Bryan, the ref saw Kane hit Reigns, thus getting Bryan disqualified. Bryan was not happy with Kane after the match and took this as Kane looking at him as “the weak link”. Also, Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with Ryback. After Ryback beat Kofi, he put Kofi through not one, not two, but three tables, sending a direct message to his opponent WWE Champion John Cena at the upcoming Payback Pay-Per-View event. Kofi had to be stretchered out of the arena and it was later diagnosed that Ryback’s attack actually accelerated Kofi’s already-existing elbow injury. As a result, Kofi will undergo surgery this Thursday and is expected to be out of action for 4-to-8 weeks. Also, in the main event, Randy Orton went one-on-one with United States Champion and Shield leader Dean Ambrose in a non-title match. In the end, Ambrose’s fellow Shield cohorts Rollins & Reigns interfered, leading to the disqualification win for Orton. Fortunately, Team Hell No came to his aid. The show ended with Daniel Bryan single-handedly disposing of The Shield and having his arms raised by the impressed Kane and Orton. If this doesn’t prove to everybody, as well as Bryan himself, that Bryan is not “the weak link”, then I don’t know what will. I would also like to point out that in a WWE App Exclusive video from Smackdown, while Natalya Neidhart was talking with The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron Lynn), WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn came in and tried to apologize to Natalya for accidentally costing Natalya and herself their tag team match on Raw from this past Monday, which took place in Natalya’s hometown on her birthday. The Funkadactyls seemed to show some resentment towards Kaitlyn and felt that Kaitlyn has been too caught up in her secret admirer and that she needs to get her head on straight. Natalya then sent The Funkadactyls away so that she could talk with Kaitlyn alone. Despite still being upset about what happened on Raw this past Monday, she was still willing to forgive Kaitlyn. Natalya then went on to discuss her relationship status with her boyfriend The Great Khali; however, Kaitlyn all of a sudden got a text from her secret admirer. While Kaitlyn said that she would tell her secret admirer that she’s busy, Natalya pretty much insisted that Kaitlyn take the text. After Kaitlyn texted that she was busy, she turned around, but Natalya was gone. After seeing all of this transpire, two questions remain. Will Kaitlyn and Natalya’s friendship stay alive and who is Kaitlyn’s secret admirer?
