On this edition of Main Event, the WWE Universe was introduced to Main Event’s newest commentary team in Josh Mathews, Ricardo Rodriguez, and The Miz. One of the great things about this new commentary team is the fact that John “Bradshaw” Layfield is not included. Also, it was a back-and-forth-action non-title match between Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett and Sheamus O’Shaunessy. In the end, when both men went for their respective signature maneuvers, it was Sheamus who ended up beating Barrett to the punch (or rather the kick) to get the pin and the win. After the match, Barrett challenged The Miz to step in the ring with him. Miz accepted the invitation and left the announcers’ table to step inside the ring. After a brief face-off, Barrett attempted to hit Miz with his championship belt, but Miz ended up ducking and hitting Barrett with his signature maneuver “The Skull-Crushing Finale”.
