TNA Gut Check Returns

In a TNA Gut Check Match, “The Big O” Adam Ohriner, who is currently not a part of TNA, went one-on-one with Ryan Howe, who is currently spending time down at TNA’s Developmental System Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). While I was a fan of both these men, I decided to root for Ohriner. In the end, it was Ohriner that came out on top. But will it be enough to impress the TNA Gut Check Judges (Bruce Prichard, Al Snow, & OVW Owner “Nightmare” Danny Davis) to advance to having the opportunity to earn a TNA contract, or will Howe advance?

Mickie James Retains, Velvet Breaks Down

After weeks of ducking Velvet Sky, TNA Knockout Women’s Champion Mickie James finally had to defend her championship against Velvet, the woman who was entitled to a rematch after losing the championship to Mickie. Although Velvet was medically cleared to compete, her knee was not 100% going into this match and Mickie took full advantage of exploiting that. In the end, it all paid off when Mickie defeated Velvet to retain her championship. After the match, in an interview with ring announcer Christy Hemme, Velvet expressed her frustrations of not getting the job done. Velvet basically said that she thought her knee was good to go for this match, but she was having second thoughts. Hopefully, Velvet can pull herself together and bounce back from this. Speaking of the Knockouts, I would like to point out that due to the fact that the championship is not listed with the other championships on ImpactWrestling.com, it would appear that the TNA Knockout Women’s Tag Team Championship is now defunct.

Samoa Joe Is the Newest Member of Sting’s New Main Event Mafia

In a Bound For Glory Series Match, Samoa Joe went one-on-one with Aces & Eights member Ken Anderson. In the end, other members of Aces & Eights came out and attacked Joe, leading to the disqualification win for him. Aces & Eights continued their beat-down on Joe, until, the first two members of Sting’s new Main Event Mafia (TNA Hall of Famer Sting & soon-to-be TNA Hall of Famer Kurt Angle) came to Joe’s aid. In the end, the trio disposed of Aces & Eights and Joe was then revealed as the latest member of Sting’s new Main Event Mafia. Just like Sting and Angle, Joe was once a member of The Main Event Mafia.

Suicide’s Identity Finally Revealed

Prior to defending his X Division Championship against both Suicide and Kenny King in a Three-Way X Division Match, Chris Sabin was approached by TNA World Heavyweight Champion and the President of Aces & Eights Bully Ray. Bully advised Sabin not to trade in his championship in exchange for an opportunity at the TNA World Heavyweight championship, which the X Division has the option of doing prior to the TNA event, Destination X. As for the match, it was Suicide who pinned King to become the new X Division Champion; however, TNA General Manager Hulk Hogan came out with a man named TJ Perkins, who Hulk revealed as the real Suicide. Later in the night, both Hulk and Bully Ray wanted to find out who was wearing Suicide’s suit. Hulk demanded that the guy remove his mask or be stripped of the X Division Championship. After obliging to Hulk and removing his mask, it was revealed to be none other than Austin Aries, who was X Division Champion last year and successfully went on to trade in his championship for an opportunity at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X and become the champion. Of course, the question is, how will Hulk respond to this and what will he do about it? Personally, I hope Austin Aries is forced to defend his championship against TJ Perkins, the real Suicide, and Chris Sabin in a Three-Way X Division Championship because after Aries took out Perkins and stole his suit and his spot in the match, he deserves to get the opportunity he never got.
