Where There’s Wrestling, There’s Backstabbers

On this week’s edition of WWE Countdown on the WWE Network, the top ten back stabbings in history were counted down. My prediction for number one was either the infamous “Montreal Screw Job” that took place at Survivor Series 1997 between Mr. McMahon, Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart or when Shawn Michaels super kicked his Rockers tag team partner Marty Jannetty and threw him through a plate-glass window. Well, I was right on the money because the “Montreal Screw Job” was listed at number two and Shawn Michaels’ attack on Marty Jannetty was listed at number one. While I thought the ones that made the list were good ones, there are also some good ones that I think could have made the list. For instance, I think the night that Stone Cold Steve Austin aligned himself with Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania 17 was a good one. Another good one is when Christian turned his back on Edge back in 2001. One thing about that betrayal is the fact that while Christian had every intention of skyrocketing his career and plummeting Edge’s, it ultimately backfired because from that point on, Edge was on his way to becoming a very successful singles …

The “WWE Countdown” Is On

WWE Network has officially launched and it includes all-new original programs. One of those programs is called Countdown. Countdown is a program where WWE counts down numerous top ten things in history. In the premiere episode, WWE counted down the top ten catchphrases in history. The list included famous catchphrases like Booker T’s “Can you dig it, Sucka?”, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “If you Smell what The Rock…is cookin’”, Daniel Bryan’s “Yes! Yes! Yes!” and more. The #1 catchphrase was none other than Ric Flair’s “Woooooo!”. One catch phrase that was “Above and Beyond” the list was Vincent K. McMahon’s “You’re Fired!”. One of the best parts about the premiere episode of this program was that not only was Vickie Guerrero’s “Excuse Me!” not mentioned once, but Vickie was not shown on this episode at all; I guess there is a God. Based on this premiere episode, I truly believe there are more awesome things to come on Countdown.…
