Best Survivor Series Teams of All Time

Survivor Series 2014

My favorite part of WWE’s second-longest running Pay-Per-View event is the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match. Whether it would be 5-on-5, 4-on-4, 3-on-3, 7-on-7, 10-on-10 or in some cases, handicap matches, every match was always exciting. Since 1987, there have been teams that were lame, teams that were good, but not necessarily memorable and there were teams that were considered all-star teams. Below is the list of teams, in no particular order that I personally think were true all-star teams.

Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Brutus Beefcake and Jim Duggan

The Hulkamaniacs (Hulk Hogan, Demolition (Ax & Smash) and Jake Roberts

Roddy’s Rowdies (Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka and The Bushwhackers (Butch & Luke)

The Warriors (Ultimate Warrior, Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal) and Texas Tornado

The Dream Team (Dusty Rhodes, Koko B. Ware and Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart)

The Vipers (Jake Roberts, Jimmy Snuka and The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty)

The Hulkamaniacs (Hulk Hogan, Jim Duggan, Big Boss Man and Tugboat)

Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and Tito Santana

Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Virgil and Davey Boy Smith

Sgt. Slaughter, Jim

Two Match Ideas for WWE Survivor Series 2014

Survivor Series 2014

One of the best things about one of WWE’s top events of the year, Survivor Series, is the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Matches. I have come up with some ideas for two possible matches.

Team Brie vs. Team Nikki

Nikki Bella had recently betrayed her twin sister Brie and the two estranged siblings have been at each others’ throats ever since. Both Bella sisters are also two of the stars of WWE reality show Total Divas, which just had its mid-season 3 finale. Both Alicia Fox and Paige will be joining the cast when the second half of season 3 continues in January. I should also point out that at the recent WWE Pay-Per-View event “Hell in a Cell”, Brie and Nikki went one-on-one in a match to determine who would be the other one’s personal assistant for a month. Unfortunately, Brie was beaten by her sister; therefore, she is her sister’s personal assistant for the next month. The stipulation of that match also stated that if the loser of the match decides not to go through with being the personal assistant, then she would be forced to leave WWE. I know that Brie will stick it …

When Will the Survivor Series Anthology Continue?

A few years ago, WWE released two 5-disc DVD sets of every single Survivor Series event in history, which was titled “WWE Survivor Series Anthology”. The first DVD set was from 1987-1991 and the second DVD set was from 1992-1996. Since then, WWE has not released any more anthology DVD sets of the Survivor Series events that took place. The one question on my mind is, “What’s up with that?” I already own the WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam anthology DVD sets. When these DVD sets were released during its respective years, every single event from the year it debuted to the most recent year was featured on the DVD sets. This allowed me to add to the collection of these events by getting the DVD sets of the events that followed in the next years that were not featured on the anthology sets. With the Survivor Series anthology DVD sets, however, WWE has just stopped at the year 1996. In order for me to add to the Survivor Series collection, WWE is going to have to produce more of the Survivor Series events up to the most recent year, like they did with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam. I …
