WWE Superstars Who Should Be in the Main Event/Championship Picture

New WWE Logo

Today in WWE, we see guys like John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Big Show, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Rob Van Dam, The Undertaker and Jack Swagger in the Main Event/Championship picture. While all of these guys definitely belong there, I feel that there are a few other guys that belong there as well, but are not necessarily completely there at the moment. These names include guys like Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, R-Truth, The Great Khali, Zack Ryder, Adam Rose, Sin Cara, William Regal, Hunico, David Otunga, Darren Young and Alex Riley. All of these men have made a significant impact in WWE and I feel that they are not getting the opportunities that they deserve to showcase them.…

WWE Smackdown 5-31-13: Super Daniel Bryan

The show began with one-half of Team Hell No Kane (accompanied by the other half of Team Hell No Daniel Bryan) taking on WWE Tag Team Champion and Shield member Seth Rollins (accompanied by WWE Tag Team Champion and fellow Shield cohort Roman Reigns). At one point in the match, Reigns jumped up on the ring apron to distract Kane, but Kane caught him. In the end, Daniel Bryan returned the favor by knocking Rollins off the top rope while the referee’s back was turned. Kane capitalized and hit Rollins with his signature maneuver “The Chokeslam” to get the pin and the win. Immediately following this match was the match between Bryan and Reigns with their respective tag team partners in their corners. In the end, after Reigns took an unprovoked shot at Kane, Kane retaliated by taking a shot at him. Unfortunately for Bryan, the ref saw Kane hit Reigns, thus getting Bryan disqualified. Bryan was not happy with Kane after the match and took this as Kane looking at him as “the weak link”. Also, Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with Ryback. After Ryback beat Kofi, he put Kofi through not one, not two, but three tables, sending a …

WWE Raw 5-20-13: Two Superstars Get the Biggest Wins of Their Careers

The show began with Ryback actually arriving into the arena in the back of an ambulance. After Ryback stepped out of the ambulance and then on top of it, he then went on to challenge WWE Champion John Cena in an Ambulance Match for the championship at the upcoming Payback Pay-Per-View event and the match has been made official. Also, after hearing all the rumors, it was confirmed that Paul Heyman had enlisted a new client named Curtis Axel, the man formerly known as Michael McGillicutty. As Heyman discusses Axel, he is then interrupted by WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H. Triple H then tells Heyman that he has every intention of kicking his ass. Then, Axel gets in Triple H’s face, but ends up receiving a slap for his troubles. Triple H then says that he will face Axel in a match later on in the evening and added that after he kicks Axel’s ass, he’s going to kick Heyman’s. Also, Alberto Del Rio (accompanied by his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez), the new #1 contender to Dolph Ziggler’s World Heavyweight Championship, went one-on-one with NXT Champion Big E Langston (accompanied by AJ Lee). In the end, thanks to …

WWE Raw 5-6-13: John Cena and Ryback Will Take A “Stand” At Extreme Rules

The show began with WWE Champion John Cena coming out to address the condition of his Achilles heel injury and whether or not he’ll be able to compete at the upcoming Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View event. Cena said that as long as he’s medically cleared, he’ll always step in the ring and fight. Then, Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero comes out and she then invites Ryback to come out as well. Vickie then asks both men what stipulation they want to have for their WWE Championship Match at Extreme Rules. Cena said that it didn’t matter to him and he allowed Ryback to choose the stipulation. The stipulation that Ryback chose was a Last Man Standing Match; therefore, at Extreme Rules, Cena will be defending his championship against Ryback in a Last Man Standing Match. Also, United States Champion Kofi Kingston and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. I would like to point out that The Usos are actually second cousins to Roman Reigns; therefore, it was two family members taking on another family member. As for the match, thanks to Reigns knocking Kingston off …

WWE Smackdown 5-3-13: The Shield Continues Its Crusade

I was in attendance for this week’s edition of Smackdown at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. There was one match that took place before Smackdown went on the air; it was between Bo Dallas and Curt Hawkins with Dallas coming out on top. Also, WWE Tag Team Champion and one-half of Team Hell No went one-on-one with Ryback with Ryback coming out on top. Also, before his match with Fandango (accompanied by Summer Rae), Zack Ryder informed the WWE Universe in a WWE Active video that he no longer refers to himself as a broski or refers to things as “Sssiiiccckkk” because he feels that those two things just aren’t working for him anymore. As for the match, despite seeing a more-than-ever aggressive Ryder, it was still not enough to put away Fandango. Also, WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn received another gift from her secret admirer. Then, The Great Khali attempted to educate her on the ways of love. As I said before, while I think it’s acceptable for her to be interested, she should also watch her back at the same time because you never know, it could all be a trap. Also, Ricardo Rodriguez (accompanied by Alberto Del …

WWE Main Event 4-24-13: Mark Henry Conquers Everybody…Almost

The show began with Main Event commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield interviewing Mark Henry about his recent attacks on Sheamus. Then, things began to turn a little hostile when JBL goaded Mark Henry into facing four guys in a Gauntlet Match. He was originally scheduled to face The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, but instead he ended up having Jimmy as his first opponent. After Henry disposed of Jimmy, his brother Jey was Henry’s next opponent. Henry disposed of him as well. Henry’s fourth opponent was Santino Marella. Despite a valiant effort, Santino could not put away Henry. Henry’s fourth and final opponent was The Great Khali. After back-and-forth action between the two giants, Khali knocks Henry out of the ring. Instead of returning to the ring, Henry decides to walk out on the match, thus giving Khali the win by count-out. I guess Henry realized that he was about to get beat.…

WWE Smackdown 4-19-13: “Gigantic” Victory

One match that took place on this edition of Smackdown was a non-title Champion vs. Champion Match between new United States Champion Kofi Kingston and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. On this night, Kofi proved to be the better champion by defeating Barrett. Also, there has been some tension between Smackdown General Manager and WWE Hall Famer Booker T and his Senior Advisor Teddy Long as of late. The reason being that Teddy has been coming up with match ideas and not running them by Booker T like he’s supposed to be. More fuel was added to that fire when Big Show came into Booker T’s office and it was revealed that Teddy Long had come up with the Tag Team Main Event Match of the evening between the team of Randy Orton & Sheamus against the team of Big Show and Mark Henry, unbeknownst to Booker T. I sure hope Booker T and Teddy Long fix their issues because I think they make a great team. Also, after Primo, Epico, & Rosa Mendes stole a parking spot from The Great Khali, Hornswoggle, & Natalya earlier in the day, the six decided to settle their dispute in a Six-Person Mixed Tag …

WWE Main Event 4-17-13: Wade Barrett Retains

The show began with a Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender to Wade Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship. The winner would then immediately go on to face Barrett for the championship in the following match. The competitors in the Battle Royal consisted of The Great Khali (accompanied by Natalya & Hornswoggle), Justin Gabriel, The Usos, 3MB members Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal, Santino Marella, Primo & Epico (with Rosa Mendes in a neutral corner), Yoshi Tatsu, and Alex Riley. I’m surprised that R-truth wasn’t a competitor because he had beaten Barrett in a non-title match this past Monday on Raw. In the end, Justin Gabriel outlasted every other competitor, thus earning the championship opportunity. There is a lot of history between Barrett and Gabriel. For instance, they were both rookies during season 1 of NXT and they are both former members of the factions The Nexus and The Corre, so these two know each other quite well. As for the match, Barrett ended up defeating Gabriel and retaining his championship by first raking Gabriel’s eyes (unbeknownst to the ref) and then finishing him off with his finishing maneuver, the Bull Hammer Elbow. Since Barrett retained his championship, that means that he …

WWE Superstars 4-11-13: The Great Khali Stands Tall

On this edition of WWE Superstars, it was a family affair when brothers The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on cousins Primo & Epico with Rosa Mendes in their corner with The Usos coming out on top. I have been saying for quite some time now that The Usos are way overdue for a reign as WWE Tag Teams Champions and after this victory, The Usos should definitely be the next ones to get an opportunity at Team Hell No’s (Kane & Daniel Bryan) WWE Tag Team Championships. As for the main event of this week’s program, The Great Khali with Natalya & Hornswoggle in his corner took on one-half of The Primetime Players in Darren Young with the other half of The Primetime Players, Titus O’Neil, in his corner. Despite some interference from O’Neil, Darren Young was unable to put away Khali and Khali was victorious in the end.…

WWE Superstars 4-4-13: The Great Khali Conquers

The only match on this week’s edition of WWE Superstars was between The Great Khali and JTG in a David vs. Goliath encounter. Even though JTG got in some shots, he was no match for Khali’s power and ended up falling to Khali in the end. The rest of the program was all about previewing WrestleMania 29 for this Sunday.…

WWE Smackdown 3-29-13: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Returns to “His” Show

Tonight on Smackdown, WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be visiting the show that was named after his catchphrase. Also, WrestleMania 29 opponents Ryback and Mark Henry will compete in a weightlifting competition. There will also be a tag team match tonight when WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan teams up with WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn to take on Mr. Money In the Bank Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee. Also, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will go one-on-one with his former NXT Pro Chris Jericho in a non-title match. Lastly, the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship Jack Swagger will go one-on-one with The Great Khali. It sounds like there will be quite a few Raw Superstars stopping by Smackdown tonight. Tune in at 8/7ct on Syfy.…

WWE Raw 3-25-13: WWE Championship Match For WrestleMania 29 Intensifies

The show began with CM Punk and Paul Heyman coming out to taunt Punk’s WrestleMania 29 opponent The Undertaker once more. Punk was still in possession of the urn he stole from Undertaker. Eventually, there was a gong and the lights went out in the arena. Then, there was a second gong and when the lights came back on, The Undertaker was in the ring. Undertaker started to attack Punk, but before he could regain possession of the urn, Paul Heyman sprinted off with it and Punk managed to escape Undertaker’s wrath. The mind games from Punk continue. Also, Fandango was scheduled to have a match, but before his opponent could even come out, Chris Jericho comes out to get some retribution on Fandango for his attack on Jericho this past Friday on Smackdown. Jericho drives Fandango out of the ring and Fandango’s match never gets under way. Then, Mr. Money In the Bank, accompanied by AJ Lee and NXT Champion Big E Langston, come out for Ziggler’s match with Jericho that they were supposed to have later on in the show. Jericho ends up defeating Ziggler, but Big E Langston attacks Jericho after the match and lays him out …

WWE Main Event 3-20-13: Tag Team Action Highlights the Show

The show began with Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett going one-on-one with R-Truth in a non-title match. After Barrett beat R-Truth, he got into a confrontation with commentator The Miz. The Miz ended up running Barrett off. It’s pretty clear that things aren’t settled between these two. Also, Josh Mathews interviewed Sheamus about the possibility of Big Show being his and Randy Orton’s tag team partner against The Shield at WrestleMania 29. Sheamus said that he was not going to speak for Randy Orton and I think he basically indicated that he’s not too sure about having Big Show as his partner. Personally, while I definitely think Big Show has all the tools in the world to stop The Shield, I just don’t think he is a trustworthy guy. Therefore, I think Orton and Sheamus need to choose a guy who is trustworthy. In the first tag team match of the night, it was Natalya teaming up with Layla to take the team of Alicia Fox & Aksana. Right before the match started, Alicia Fox got on the mic and took shots at Natalya’s boyfriend, The Great Khali. Natalya made Alicia Fox eat her words by forcing her to tap out …

WWE Smackdown 3-15-13 Review

After Randy Orton & Sheamus defeated Team Rhodes Scholars, The Shield appeared on the titantron and issued a WrestleMania 29 challenge. They said it would be the three of them against Randy Orton, Sheamus, and a partner of their choosing. Orton & Sheamus accepted the challenge. Later on backstage, The Big Show tried to state his case to Orton & Sheamus, only to find out that they had already chosen Ryback as their partner for WrestleMania. Personally, I think they did the right thing by choosing Ryback over Big Show because Big Show isn’t a trustworthy guy. During an interview backstage, Sheamus & Orton got interrupted by a brutal attack from The Shield. Ryback eventually found out about it, but Smackdown General Manager Booker T told Ryback that he would take care of it and to go out and have his match with Mark Henry. The match between these two had barely gotten started when The Shield entered through the crowd and came to attack Ryback. After the attack, Mark Henry took full advantage of it by laying out Ryback with not one, not two, but three World’s Strongest Slams. This was definitely a cheap and cowardly move on the …
