NXT Has Made a Huge Impact in WWE

Whether it was the original version of NXT where an NXT Rookie was paired with a WWE Pro or NXT the current developmental system of WWE, many of today’s WWE Superstars on the main roster have come out of NXT. Some of these superstars have made it to the top, some have made a huge impact and some still have yet to make their presence felt. I am very confident that there will be many more superstars to come out of NXT in the near future.

NXT Alumni

The following superstars listed below have managed to land spots on the main roster. Some have gone on to become top stars, some are still working their way to the top and some even still spend part of their time down at NXT.

Adam Rose and some of his Rosebuds – Adam Rose owns numerous victories over former World Champion Jack Swagger and The Rosebuds continue to follow him.

AJ Lee – 3-time WWE Divas Champion and Slammy Award Winner.

Alex Riley – Owns victories over 3 former World Champions and current panelist for the Raw Pre-Show and for Kick-Off shows before the WWE Pay-Per-View events.

WWE Raw 6-17-13: Daniel Bryan Finally Proves to the Entire World (or Rather Himself) That He Is Not the “Weak Link”

 Double Disqualification = Rematch

The show began with a rematch between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. I am a fan of both of these men and I was not sure who to root for in this one. At one point, both men ended up outside the ring and got so aggressive with one another to the point where they both ended up getting disqualified. This led to Bryan, who has been obsessed with not being called the “weak link” for quite some time now, going to Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and demanding a rematch for later in the evening, which Vickie eventually agreed to.

AJ Lee Strikes Again

During a match between Kaitlyn (accompanied by Layla El) and Aksana, Kaitlyn’s theme music hit and out comes WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee dressed as her. Aksana tried to take advantage of the distraction, but Kaitlyn was able to hit her with her signature maneuver “The Spear” to get the pin and the win. After the match, AJ Lee had her friend Big E Langston come out and they then proceeded to mock Kaitlyn by re-enacting the hoax that AJ pulled on Kaitlyn a few weeks ago. Layla ended up having …

WWE Superstars 6-13-13: Our Heroes Get Robbed

On this edition of Superstars, one-half of Tons of Funk Tensai (accompanied by the other half of Tons of Funk Brodus Clay & The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron Lynn) went one-on-one with one-half of The Prime Time Players Titus O’Neil (accompanied by the other half of The Prime Time Players Darren Young). In the end, thanks to an assist from Darren Young, Titus O’Neil was able to defeat Tensai. Also, in the main event, one-half of Team Co-Bro Zack Ryder went one-on-one with the leader of 3MB Heath Slater (accompanied by fellow 3MB cohorts Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal). In the end, thanks to a distraction by both McIntyre and Mahal, Slater was able to defeat Ryder. It was definitely a travesty of how our heroes were robbed of their victories.…

WWE Main Event 5-22-13: Ryback Strikes Again

The show began with a rematch between Alberto Del Rio (accompanied by Ricardo Rodriguez) and NXT Champion Big E Langston (accompanied by AJ Lee) from this past Monday on Raw. Big E defeated Del Rio last Monday thanks to a distraction from AJ and a thumb to the eye of Del Rio, but on this night, Del Rio got retribution when he beat Big E. In the main event, The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on 3MB members Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal (accompanied by 3MB leader Heath Slater). At one point during the match, an ambulance emerges into the arena with Ryback coming out of the back, similar to what he did this past Monday on Raw. After taking out Heath Slater, he then carries him over and stuffs him into the ambulance, just like he did to one-half of Team Cobro Zack Ryder this past Monday on Raw. The Usos capitalized on this and picked up the victory. Also, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett was supposed to defend against Sin Cara, but for some reason, the match didn’t take place. I sure hope this match is post-poned and not cancelled because Sin Cara has earned this opportunity.…

WWE Raw 5-13-13: Triple H Is Ready for Extreme Rules

The show began with a dance-off between Chris Jericho and his dance partner, professional ballroom dancer and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom dancer Edyta Sliwinska and Fandango and his his dance partner, Summer Rae. There was ballroom dancing hard-wood floor inside the wrestling ring for the dance-off. Fandango and Summer were up first and during their dance, it appeared that Summer had twisted her ankle. Both Edyta and Jericho showed concern; while doing so, Fandango took advantage and jumped Jericho from behind and brutally attacked him, even using a piece of the hard-wood floor to hit Jericho in the face with. Afterwards, it was revealed that Summer was not hurt at all and leaped to her feet; therefore, it was a trap all along and the dance-off ended in a no contest. Personally, I think it was ridiculous that Edyta was invited to WWE Raw for a dance-off to not dance at all. It was also revealed that Jericho and Fandango will be going one-on-one at this Sunday’s Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View event. Every match at Extreme Rules is supposed to be contested under extreme rules; I think the extreme rules stipulation for this match should be having the ballroom …

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 5-11-13: Saturday Morning Slam Invades the U.K.

This edition of Saturday Morning Slam took place from the United Kingdom in England. Alicia Fox joined Josh Mathews on commentary for this edition. In a match set up by the General Manager of Saturday Morning Slam and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Santino Marella went one-on-one with 3MB member Jinder Mahal, with the other two members of 3MB (Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre) banned from ringside. In the end, it was Santino who hit Jinder with his signature maneuver “The Cobra Strike” to gain victory. Also, in a huge main event, the team of Randy Orton & Sheamus O’Shaunessy took on The Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil & Darren Young). During the match, Alicia pointed out something interesting; Titus O’Neil paints his nails. I don’t know if this is fact or if this is Alicia starting up another one of her gossips. Either way, it was quite interesting. As for the match, it was Orton & Sheamus who emerged victorious to end the program.…

WWE Main Event 5-8-13: 3MB Gets Rocked

The show began with the first main event of the night between Randy Orton and Antonio Cesaro. After back-and-forth-action between the two, it was Orton who struck Cesaro with his signature maneuver “The RKO” out of nowhere to get the victory. Also, in the second main event of the night, Justin Gabriel and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) took on 3MB (Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, & Jinder Mahal) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. There was a lot of flying around in this match-up and in the end, it was Gabriel who hit McIntyre with his signature maneuver “The 450 Splash” to get the victory for his team. In my opinion, I think this match stole the show.…

WWE Main Event 5-1-13: Kofi Kingston Retains Championship, But Loses Some of His Hair

I was in attendance at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan for this edition of Main Event. In the first match, former United States Champion Antonio Cesaro invoked his rematch clause against the man who beat him for the championship, Kofi Kingston. It was back-and-forth action between the two, but in the end, Kofi beat Cesaro to retain his championship. After the match, Matt Striker interviewed Kofi; Kofi revealed that last week, his wife gave birth to their first son. A few minutes later, as Kofi is walking backstage, he gets jumped by Cesaro in brutal fashion. Then, Cesaro shocks everybody by actually ripping some Kofi’s hair right off his head before walking off. Finally, in the main event, Justin Gabriel goes one-on-one with his former WWE Tag Team Championship partner and leader of 3Mb Heath Slater (accompanied by fellow 3MB cohorts Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal). At one point in the match, the referee ejects McIntyre & Mahal from ringside after they attempted to interfere. In the end, just Gabriel hits Slater with his signature maneuver “The 450 Splash” to get the victory and end the program.…

WWE Raw 4-16-13: New United States Champion, Ryback Turns On His Fans

The show began with a rematch from this past Friday on Smackdown when Randy Orton & Sheamus faced The Big Show in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Despite Big Show dominating most of the match-up, Orton & Sheamus ended up coming out on top. This was the good news for Sheamus; however, the bad news was that later on in the show during an interview, Mark Henry ambushed Sheamus just like he did this past Friday on Smackdown. What exactly are Henry’s motives for these unprovoked attacks on Sheamus? Also, 3MB (Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, & Jinder Mahal) called out The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns), but instead, they got Brock Lesnar, who came out and disposed of 3MB. After Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman came out to calm him down, Heyman then informed WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H that Lesnar has issued a challenge to Triple H for the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View Event, Extreme Rules. Lesnar has challenged Triple H to a Steel Cage Match. Triple H was late arriving at Raw this past Monday due to the fact that he was getting an MRI done on his injured arm. The good news is that nothing is …

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 4-13-13: Mark Henry Conquers

On this edition of Saturday Morning Slam, Kofi Kingston was on commentary with Josh Mathews. The first match of the morning was a tag team match between the team of Zack Ryder and Justin Gabriel against 3MB members Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal with the leader of 3MB Heath Slater in their corner. In the end, thanks to a distraction by Heath Slater and the hooking of the trunks for added leverage, 3MB got the victory. But 3MB weren’t done there, they attacked Ryder and Gabriel after the match, prompting Kofi Kingston to leave the announce desk to even the odds. Then, the General Manager of Saturday Morning Slam and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley came out and told Kofi that he understood his motives for leaving the announce desk, but that commentators are only supposed to call the action; therefore, he took Kofi off commentary. However, Foley also decided that since the other two members of 3MB had a match, he felt that Heath Slater should have one as well. Therefore, Foley made the next match of the morning between Kofi Kingston and Heath Slater. World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler called the action with Josh Mathews for the …

WWE Smackdown 4-12-13: Fandango Attacks Chris Jericho…Again

On this edition of Smackdown, there were quite a few Raw Superstars that visited the show. The show began with NXT Champion Big E Langston mocking Ricardo Rodriguez’s introduction of Alberto Del Rio by introducing the new World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler in similar fashion. Dolph headed to the ring with both Big E and AJ Lee to address the success he had this past Monday on Raw by cashing in his Money In the Bank contract for an opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship and defeating Del Rio for the championship. During Dolph’s address, he is interrupted by Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter. Colter tells Ziggler that Swagger played a huge role in him winning the championship this past Monday and that Swagger won’t be waiting so long for an opportunity at Ziggler’s championship. Then, he is interrupted by Del Rio who then tells Ziggler that once his leg is healed, he will be looking to reclaim the championship. Dolph is then interrupted by Chris Jericho who informs Dolph that Smackdown General Manager and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has booked Jericho and Ziggler in a non-title main event match for the evening. Also, WWE Chief Operating Officer …

WWE Raw 3-25-13: WWE Championship Match For WrestleMania 29 Intensifies

The show began with CM Punk and Paul Heyman coming out to taunt Punk’s WrestleMania 29 opponent The Undertaker once more. Punk was still in possession of the urn he stole from Undertaker. Eventually, there was a gong and the lights went out in the arena. Then, there was a second gong and when the lights came back on, The Undertaker was in the ring. Undertaker started to attack Punk, but before he could regain possession of the urn, Paul Heyman sprinted off with it and Punk managed to escape Undertaker’s wrath. The mind games from Punk continue. Also, Fandango was scheduled to have a match, but before his opponent could even come out, Chris Jericho comes out to get some retribution on Fandango for his attack on Jericho this past Friday on Smackdown. Jericho drives Fandango out of the ring and Fandango’s match never gets under way. Then, Mr. Money In the Bank, accompanied by AJ Lee and NXT Champion Big E Langston, come out for Ziggler’s match with Jericho that they were supposed to have later on in the show. Jericho ends up defeating Ziggler, but Big E Langston attacks Jericho after the match and lays him out …

WWE Smackdown 3-22-13: Who Will Be Randy Orton’s & Sheamus’ Partner?

The show began with Randy Orton and Sheamus as guest stars on The Miz’s talk show, MizTV. The Miz asked Orton and Sheamus about who would be their partner against The Shield at WrestleMania 29. While Randy Orton said that he wanted The Big Show as their partner, Sheamus still wasn’t too sure. Then, The Miz invited Big Show on to the show to give his input on the situation. He said that he knows that Sheamus and Orton don’t trust him and that he doesn’t trust them, but all three men have been victimized by The Shield at one time or another. Then, Smackdown General Manager and soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer Booker T came out and decided to put the three to the test by booking them in a six-man tag team match for the main event of the night. Their opponents turned out to be 3MB. Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show seemed to be working cohesively throughout the match, until Sheamus tagged himself into the match and got the victory for his team. Big Show took issue with this because he felt that he did all the work and that Sheamus picked up the scraps. In an …

WWE Raw 3-18-13: New Matches Added to WrestleMania 29

On this edition of Raw, three more matches for WrestleMania were made. First, Raw Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero removed Ryback from the six-man tag team match for WrestleMania between Ryback himself, Randy Orton, and Sheamus against The Shield. Instead, Vickie booked him in a one-on-one match against Mark Henry at WrestleMania. This leaves Orton and Sheamus in need of a third partner. After Orton and Sheamus beat Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre of 3MB, The Shield looked to attack them, but Big Show came out to stand against The Shield and The Shield backed down. Then, Big Show implied to Orton and Sheamus that they should really consider him to be they’re partner for WrestleMania. I still don’t think Big Show is a trustworthy guy. Another match that was made for WrestleMania was WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No defending their championships against Mr. Money In the Bank Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston. Also, Smackdown General Manager Booker T was announced as the latest inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013. Booker also mentioned on WWE Active that his brother, Stevie Ray, will be joining him on stage for a one night reunion of Harlem …

WWE Main Event 3-13-13 Review

The first match of the night was World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio going one-on-one with The Big Show in a non-title match. During the match, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter came out to observe. At one point, after Del Rio got thrown out of the ring, Jack Swagger clipped Del Rio in the leg from behind while the ref’s back was turned. Del Rio tried to get back in the ring before the count of ten, but his leg was just too damaged and Big Show got the win via countout. The second match was between The Usos and 3MB members Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre. McIntyre did not come into the match at 100% due to his attack by both Ryback and Mark Henry this past Monday on Raw, he had his ribs taped up. Unfortunately for 3MB, it was just too much for them to overcome and The Usos got the victory. In the main event, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett went one-on-one in a non-title match against both former Nexus and Corre cohort Justin Gabriel. Gabriel nearly pulled off the upset, but in the end, Barrett caught Gabriel with his finishing maneuver, the Bull Hammer Elbow, to …
