WWE Takes over Grand Rapids Once Again

Van Andel Arena

Last night, I was in attendance at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI for WWE Live. This event was not televised, but one of the best things about that is that something newsworthy can happen that a lot of people do not get to see.

Two Divas Switch Roles

Summer Rae and The Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron) teamed up against Layla, Eva Marie and Rosa Mendes; therefore, this means that Summer Rae is now a face and Eva Marie is now a heel. What began as a dance-off ended up turning into a Six-Diva Tag Team Match. In the end, Summer and The Funkadactyls were victorious.

Dancing Confidently

It would appear that Cody Rhodes has regained his confidence to team up with his half-brother Goldust once again because they teamed up against WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) and Wyatt Family members Luke Harper & Erick Rowan in a Triple Threat Match for the The Usos’ Championships. While I am a fan of both The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers, I was rooting for The Usos to win this one. I would also like to point out that during the match, both The …

WWE Smackdown 6-28-13: Del Rio Fiesta Spoiled

Kaitlyn Turns the Tables On AJ Lee

WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee (accompanied by Big E Langston) went one-on-one with Natalya Neidhart in a non-title match. Right when the match officially got under way, AJ’s theme music hit and it was none other than Kaitlyn coming out dressed as AJ, similar to what AJ did to Kaitlyn on Raw the previous Monday. Kaitlyn then went on to ridicule her former BFF by telling everybody that in addition to the vast number of superstars AJ has been intimate with, there are rumors that she has been intimate with several of the WWE personnel that were seated at ringside, including Smackdown ring announcer Lilian Garcia. After AJ and Natalya began locking up with one another, Kaitlyn, at one point, began to skip around ringside in typical AJ fashion, which not only drove AJ insane, but provided enough of a distraction to allow Natalya to roll up AJ to get the pin and the win. After the match, Kaitlyn put the exclamation point on her mind games by hitting AJ with her signature maneuver “The Spear”.

WWE’s Current Most Underrated Superstars

Today in WWE, there are numerous superstars that I feel aren’t entirely getting the credit or fame that they deserve. I feel that WWE’s current most underrated superstars are, in no particular order, Kofi Kingston, Bo Dallas, Zack Ryder, Sasha Banks, Paige, Sami Zayne, Brodus Clay, Tensai, Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Ted DiBiase, Jr.; Yoshi Tatsu, Evan Bourne, Santino Marella, and Alex Riley. WWE really needs to start giving these guys a push and in some cases, again.…

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 5-11-13: Saturday Morning Slam Invades the U.K.

This edition of Saturday Morning Slam took place from the United Kingdom in England. Alicia Fox joined Josh Mathews on commentary for this edition. In a match set up by the General Manager of Saturday Morning Slam and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Santino Marella went one-on-one with 3MB member Jinder Mahal, with the other two members of 3MB (Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre) banned from ringside. In the end, it was Santino who hit Jinder with his signature maneuver “The Cobra Strike” to gain victory. Also, in a huge main event, the team of Randy Orton & Sheamus O’Shaunessy took on The Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil & Darren Young). During the match, Alicia pointed out something interesting; Titus O’Neil paints his nails. I don’t know if this is fact or if this is Alicia starting up another one of her gossips. Either way, it was quite interesting. As for the match, it was Orton & Sheamus who emerged victorious to end the program.…

WWE Main Event 4-24-13: Mark Henry Conquers Everybody…Almost

The show began with Main Event commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield interviewing Mark Henry about his recent attacks on Sheamus. Then, things began to turn a little hostile when JBL goaded Mark Henry into facing four guys in a Gauntlet Match. He was originally scheduled to face The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, but instead he ended up having Jimmy as his first opponent. After Henry disposed of Jimmy, his brother Jey was Henry’s next opponent. Henry disposed of him as well. Henry’s fourth opponent was Santino Marella. Despite a valiant effort, Santino could not put away Henry. Henry’s fourth and final opponent was The Great Khali. After back-and-forth action between the two giants, Khali knocks Henry out of the ring. Instead of returning to the ring, Henry decides to walk out on the match, thus giving Khali the win by count-out. I guess Henry realized that he was about to get beat.…

WWE Main Event 4-17-13: Wade Barrett Retains

The show began with a Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender to Wade Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship. The winner would then immediately go on to face Barrett for the championship in the following match. The competitors in the Battle Royal consisted of The Great Khali (accompanied by Natalya & Hornswoggle), Justin Gabriel, The Usos, 3MB members Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal, Santino Marella, Primo & Epico (with Rosa Mendes in a neutral corner), Yoshi Tatsu, and Alex Riley. I’m surprised that R-truth wasn’t a competitor because he had beaten Barrett in a non-title match this past Monday on Raw. In the end, Justin Gabriel outlasted every other competitor, thus earning the championship opportunity. There is a lot of history between Barrett and Gabriel. For instance, they were both rookies during season 1 of NXT and they are both former members of the factions The Nexus and The Corre, so these two know each other quite well. As for the match, Barrett ended up defeating Gabriel and retaining his championship by first raking Gabriel’s eyes (unbeknownst to the ref) and then finishing him off with his finishing maneuver, the Bull Hammer Elbow. Since Barrett retained his championship, that means that he …
