ROH TV 3-30-13: S.C.U.M. Dominates

On this week’s edition of ROH TV, all the matches were ROH vs. S.C.U.M. The first match was between C & C and S.C.U.M. members Rhett Titus & Cliff Compton. Thanks to other members of S.C.U.M., Titus & Compton got the victory. The next match was between Mike Mondo and S.C.U.M. member Jimmy Jacobs. Jacobs got the victory by hooking Mondo’s trunks for extra leverage. In th main event, it was Jay Lethal, Michael Elgin, and BJ Whitmer vs. S.C.U.M. members Steve Corino, RHINO, and Matt Hardy. In this match, there was no tagging in and out and there were no count-outs or disqualifications. S.C.U.M. took full advantage of this when other S.C.U.M. members came out and handcuffed Lethal and Elgin to the ring ropes, which left Whitmer to fend for himself. Despite a valiant effort, the numbers game was just too much to overcome and S.C.U.M. got the victory. After the match was over, Lethal and Elgin got uncuffed and it was an all out brawl between the ROH locker room and S.C.U.M. to end the show. This night may have gone to S.C.U.M., but based on the brawl that ended this week’s edition of the show, this tells …

OVW TV 3-30-13: Doug Williams Screws Doug Williams

The show began with #1 contender to the OVW Heavyweight Championship Crimson reminding champion Doug Williams about the deal that he and Williams made as far as preventing Jamin Olivencia from becoming the #1 contender to Williams’ championship. That deal was that Crimson could have his championship opportunity at anytime and anywhere and Crimson Told Williams that he wanted his opportunity that night. Doug Williams reluctantly agreed. Also, the 24/7 match between Rudy Switchblade and Jessie Godderz continued and it still continues on as we speak. Also, during Paredyse’s match with Albert E. Baxter II, Brittany DeVore appeared on the titantron and vowed vengeance upon him, Brandon Espinosa, and Chris for the stunt that they had pulled on her the previous week. Despite the minor distraction, Paredyse still managed to defeat Baxter. Also, it was the battle of the rockstars when OVW Television Champion Rockstar Spud defended his championship against “Wrestling’s Rockstar” Ryan Howe. Ever since Rockstar Spud made his first OVW TV appearance, I’ve been waiting for these two rockstars to encounter one another and wondering what would happen between the two. I’m a fan of both of these guys, but I decided to root for Rockstar Spud. During …

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 3-30-13: Match and Rematch On One Program

The show began with Tons of Funk taking on The Primetime Players, a match that was made last week by Saturday Morning Slam General Manager and soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. The Primetime Players used some underhanded tactics to get the victory; however, Mick Foley came out and said that he feels the match should be restarted, but he realized that a referee’s decision is final. So instead, Foley booked a rematch between the two teams and said that the match would take place right there and now. Tons of Funk ended up coming out on top in the rematch. I thought what Mick Foley did was pretty clever. He knew that there was highway robbery involved in that tag team match and wanted to restart the match because of it; however, as stated above, he realized that a referee’s decision is final, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t book a rematch and name the time and the place for it; Foley did just that.…

WWE Smackdown 3-29-13: The Road to WrestleMania Draws Nearer

The show began with WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson doing a second addition of Story Time With The Rock, but was eventually interrupted by John Laurinaitis. This is the first time that John Laurinaitis has appeared on WWE Television in nearly a year. He then offered to be in The Rock’s corner at WrestleMania for his championship match against John Cena. The Rock responded by giving Johnny a spinebuster followed by the People’s Elbow. During this week’s edition of Backstage Fallout from Smackdown on YouTube, John Laurinaitis made it clear that he’s not giving up yet; he is still gonna try to convince The Rock to let him be in his corner at WrestleMania. It’s pretty clear that Johnny is still not over the fact that John Cena played a very partial role in costing Johnny his position as General Manager of both Raw and Smackdown last year and he wants to use The Rock to get back at Cena. Also, WrestleMania 29 opponents Ryback and Mark Henry had a benchpress competition. Each man was to lift 225 pounds and do as many reps as they could. Mark Henry was first; he ended up doing 53 reps. Then, it …

Impact Wrestling 3-28-13: The Issues Continue

It was Open Fight Night on this edition of Impact Wrestling, meaning that anyone could call anyone out and that person would have to answer. Right before Jeff Hardy could call someone out, he was interrupted by Aces & Eights. Then, Aces & Eights member Mr. Anderson started to talk smack to Hardy, which led to physicality between Aces & Eights and members of the TNA locker room. After the dust had settled, Jeff Hardy had challenged Anderson to a match later on in the main event. Speaking of Jeff Hardy, General Manager Hulk Hogan told Hardy that he could choose the stipulation for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match when Hardy challenges champion and President of Aces & Eights Bully Ray in two weeks on Impact Wrestling. Also, Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez called out Bad Influnce and annouced that Hulk Hogan said that whichever team got the win would be the #1 contenders to TNA World Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode & Austin Aries. Chavo & Hernandez got the win, thus becoming the #1 contenders. Also, after security prevented TNA Hall of Famer Sting from entering Hogan’s office, Sting decided to call out Hogan. Hogan answered the challenge and …

Reid Flair Passes Away

Reid Flair, son of Wrestling Hall of Famer Ric Flair, passed away earlier today. There is still ongoing investigation of what caused his death. Following in the footsteps of his famous father, Reid was a 2nd generation superstar. Sadly, we will never know if Reid would have ever reached the pinnacle that his father had reached. Reid was 25 years old. Our deepest condolences certainly go out to all of his fans, friends, and family.…

WWE Smackdown 3-29-13: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Returns to “His” Show

Tonight on Smackdown, WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be visiting the show that was named after his catchphrase. Also, WrestleMania 29 opponents Ryback and Mark Henry will compete in a weightlifting competition. There will also be a tag team match tonight when WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan teams up with WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn to take on Mr. Money In the Bank Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee. Also, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will go one-on-one with his former NXT Pro Chris Jericho in a non-title match. Lastly, the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship Jack Swagger will go one-on-one with The Great Khali. It sounds like there will be quite a few Raw Superstars stopping by Smackdown tonight. Tune in at 8/7ct on Syfy.…

WWE Superstars 3-28-13: Heroes Conquer

On this week’s edition of WWE Superstars, Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with Primo and Kofi came out on top. In the main event, Natalya took on Aksana with Natalya forcing Aksana to submit to The Sharpshooter. As far as I’m concerned, it was a clean sweep for the WWE Universe because our heroes conquered in their respective matches.…

WWE NXT 3-27-13: Road to WrestleMania 29

This was a special edition of NXT because the theme was “Road to WrestleMania 29”. WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel was the ring announcer for the night and the commentary team for the night was Tom Phillips, William Regal, and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. We also heard from some of WWE’s biggest names of today including The Shield, World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, and John Cena; they all discussed their respective upcoming matches for WrestleMania 29. The first match was actually for the WWE Divas Championship when champion Kaitlyn defended against challenger Natalya. While I am a fan of both of these women, I was rooting for Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn ended up getting the victory and after the match, both women shook hands, embraced, and held the championship high together in true class. I should also point out that based on what the commentators were saying throughout the match, it sounds like WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn will as least be appearing at WrestleMania 29. The next match was David vs. Goliath when Brodus Clay and El Local went one-on-one; Brodus Clay was victorious. At one point during the show, Kassius Ohno came out of nowhere and attacked …

WWE Main Event 3-27-13: The Bella Twins Return to Action

The show began with WWE Tag Team Champion Kane going one-on-one with United States Champion Antonio Cesaro in a non-title match. Kane’s WWE Tag Team Championship partner Daniel Bryan joined Michael Cole and The Miz at commentary during the match. It’s a good thing that he did because AJ Lee came out and attempted to distract Kane, but Daniel Bryan got up from the commentators’ table to keep her at bay and Kane managed to pick up the victory. Before the main event between The Funkadactyls and The Bella Twins, The Funkadactyls announced that Brodus Clay & Tensai’s new tag team name is Tons of Funk. While The Funkadactyls had Tons of Funk in their corner, The Bellas had Team Rhodes Scholars in their’s. Thanks to a distraction by Cody Rhodes, The Bellas were able to pick up the victory in their first match since returning to WWE. There was one match where the face(s) attained victory and there was one match where the heel(s) attained victory; therefore, this edition of Main Event was bittersweet.…

WWE Raw 3-25-13: WWE Championship Match For WrestleMania 29 Intensifies

The show began with CM Punk and Paul Heyman coming out to taunt Punk’s WrestleMania 29 opponent The Undertaker once more. Punk was still in possession of the urn he stole from Undertaker. Eventually, there was a gong and the lights went out in the arena. Then, there was a second gong and when the lights came back on, The Undertaker was in the ring. Undertaker started to attack Punk, but before he could regain possession of the urn, Paul Heyman sprinted off with it and Punk managed to escape Undertaker’s wrath. The mind games from Punk continue. Also, Fandango was scheduled to have a match, but before his opponent could even come out, Chris Jericho comes out to get some retribution on Fandango for his attack on Jericho this past Friday on Smackdown. Jericho drives Fandango out of the ring and Fandango’s match never gets under way. Then, Mr. Money In the Bank, accompanied by AJ Lee and NXT Champion Big E Langston, come out for Ziggler’s match with Jericho that they were supposed to have later on in the show. Jericho ends up defeating Ziggler, but Big E Langston attacks Jericho after the match and lays him out …
